I recently had a lesson from a local instructor. A week or so later he texted me, asking how my stroke was coming along. I thought I might as well tell him the truth, so I composed this little ditty:
A POOL PLAYER’S LAMENT
My stroke is a joke,
and my style is to choke.
I once got shape, but missed the shot.
My Fargo is below zero,
and I am no action hero.
My best shot is the fluke,
and even that is inconsistent.
My break just tickles the rack,
and the other players snicker all the way in the back.
I once tried to jump the cue ball,
it landed three tables away.
My stroke is a joke,
and my style is to choke.
I am in a league, by myself.
