I was reading your profile and you have it in Instructor. I'm just curious as to what credentials you posses in billiards? I have a 8 foot table in my home and have about 3 or 4 guys that are looking to pick up some pointers on our games. I live really close to you, (Whitehall, PA). My main concern is to ensure my basics are correct, as I just got a new pair of glasses and Ive noticed that I get headaches and my neck hurts after only an hour of play, whereas I could play for hours upon hours with my old ones.

Thanks,

Dave

Just a guess, I'm not sure, but I believe that "kildegirl" is Hal Houle.

I spoke with Hal at length a few years ago, and he had mentioned that he was moving to this side of PA. I have heard great and horrid stories on his aiming technique. I will assume this is all personal opinion.

Just a couple of guys on my league team looking to pick their games up. Have 1 player who is a 3 and needs a lot of help, that I am in no way authorized to help him with, as I tell him I'm not sure how I do it, I just do it...lol. 2nd player has a temper and cant get past that, and then me...can run a decent number of balls, but just can't seal the deal, and who knows I might even be able to get Jeeves down here as well. Need him to play straight pool anyways...none of my friends really play it.

I'm assuming there's some reason why you couldn't PM or mail him from his profile ?

Not being mean at all just honestly curious if they were off or something,

done already...but i got a PM with Hals number so Ill call the number either way in a few days if the thread gets bumped away again.

Can you where contacts?

You have two choices Contacts or laser surgery. You will never be able to play at a high level without depth perception. Not trying to be mean just realistic pool glasses if you want glasses. they fit on your face different. Lots of pro's have contacts. or do laser Efren did.

Any good pair of glasses will work... Those with larger lenses that don't restrict your vision unduly when you get down are the shot are better.

When I started wearing glasses, I developed a pain in my neck when shooting pool. (Or, maybe I was the pain in the neck.. ) anyway, when I got down to shoot, I had to push my head back towards my back and kind of skrunched it down to view the balls correctly.

Needless to say, this was more of a problem trying to get the correct view and focus on the balls, that it caused me to view the angles incorrectly.

I would suggest getting lasik, contacts or using "pool" glasses as Hoolywood suggested. JMO

I shot league last night and was fine, no headache although I lost my match...lol

Have to see why its occuring at my house more often....although Ive stayed away from my table for a few days now because of the headaches.

Wow, I think you're the only person here who refuses to post their social security number. Why are you so paranoid?

I know what you're talking about, as I see players shooting with glasses who are going through misery, as I did until I got glasses that work for everyday as well as for pool.

That neck scrunching stuff is the pits...

Sometimes it takes a while for your eyes and brain to adjust to a new prescription. You'll be alright.
