A praise for my APA League Operators!!!

Perhaps you have a hard time remembering what you wrote, so I'll forgive you for that. You insulted the league and insinuated that the members were suckers that liked being taken advantage of and couldn't or didn't play 'real pool'.

I haven't said anything that's been nonfactual.

To be quite honest with you, in my strong opinion, APA 8-Ball is less than half real. Half the game is played on the score sheet, APA 9-Ball, it's not even 9-Ball, it's how many balls you can make. Making the 9-ball in APA grants you an extra point and the break. Hence the reasoning why APA 9-ball suffers in many territories.

Guess what.. Let me know when they start live internet streaming APA matches, or the APA National Team Championship Finals. Now that will be extremely entertaining. You know exactly why they don't do it as of current.

Have a great day.

Zach.

Well first of all, if you want to chastise someones character based on opinion set forth in an online billiards form, that's easy. I'd hate to see how you chastise on a personal level, or face to face, because that is not easy.

Have a great day..

Zach.

you may or may not be a great person once someone gets to know you personally but on this forum you come across a lil brash . not trying to say anything inflamatory about your character but what you say on this forum is how people form an opinion of you.

i understand perfectly that since you own a napa franchise that you are going to promote it as the best thing since moms apple pie. but it seems unbeknownst to you that you are turning people against you by critisizing every other league every chance you get.

as for greedy league operators let me state this info from personal experience.

my 1st league was bcapl. it cost more 5 years ago than apa does today.

i play both napa and apa currently. it costs me less to play apa than napa.

Right on.

No. I don't criticize every other league every chance I get.

I'm entitled say what I've noticed in 15 years playing APA and what is has took to reach the end result. Let alone the sheer amazement of how many cloaking abstracts can be achieved to disguise someone's skill level. Don't let the guy in the Wheelchair fool you.

I think many lack the enthusiasm to really call it what it is. However, I'm not ashamed or bashful.

You may want to reconsider how much more expensive leagues are to participate in, because it has a lot more to do with total out of pocket to reach your goal, or the goals set forth by the league for the end result. Come back and let me know what the difference is.

I don't think we need to rehash the thousands of threads about the APA. Search them and read sometime.

I rarely, if ever, chastise on a personal level. Here online, or in person. This being a forum, I react in accordance with how others on the forum present themselves. Pot, meet kettle.

If you think I go around making judgments and "chastising" here, perhaps you missed it earlier when I told that you are the first person I've ever red repped. And since you pointed it out earlier, I do spend quite a bit of time here...so that is quite an accomplishment.

Matters not. You obviously are content to come onto another persons thread (one that was intended to congratulate the people running the league that he plays in on running an enjoyable league) and to denigrate them. Without ever having any experience with that particular LO's league. If you believe that is all well and proper, you and I will have to disagree. I do believe that speaks to one's character, on some level. Just because this is a forum on the internet doesn't excuse poor behavior. In my opinion.

Again, there are plenty of opportunities to bash the APA here on AZB, why do you feel the need to crap on this one? Oh, to further promote your league.... I see.

Of all the many things people can (and do) say about the APA, you don't see people from the APA on here denigrating other peoples leagues. Notice you don't see Mark Griffin doing that, either. And he is in the public (and here) a lot. It seems the 2 biggest leagues don't have to resort to slamming the other guys in public. Again, this speaks to character. I respect Mark Griffin an enormous amount for how he handles any mention of his competition, and it gets brought up a lot, in public, in front of everyone. He has plenty of opportunity to get down in the mud, yet never fails to take the high road. Character.

Once again, Maniac, thanks for sharing your positive thoughts with us. It is great to see the good guys acknowledged. Goodness knows there are many who will talk about the bad stuff....over and over again. It is great to see a good report. Thank you, and continued enjoyment to you and the people you play with.

Will do, just as long as you let me know when we can watch the Mosconi Cup on ESPN. For mostly the same reason we won't see anybody's kid play the part of Hamlet in their school's production.. because outside of those directly involved, the general public doesn't really care.

"I haven't said anything blah blah blah non-factual".. in other words, you admit that you were doing nothing but being insulting. Yeah, good luck with your awesome league of awesome people doing awesome things, because you're too good for the rest of the world.

Want to know why APA is more popular? Because people just want something to do and to enjoy themselves. Try having fun some time, it may take some getting used to, but it's not as bad as you'd think.

Now I'm going to head to the store to get some food to make dinner. I know that the store I go to isn't the best in the country, nor has the food completed the Intel clean-room test and maybe my cooking isn't worthy of it's own show.. but I like trying to cook, I accept the price of the goods and sometimes the food turns out pretty tasty to me. Get the picture?

To all who read this thread. I do apologize if I insulted, bashed anyone or any billiard league or association. Sometimes my passion overruns my judgement.

Maniac, I am sorry for ruining your thread and the positive encouragement you sought in your new APA territory.

ok i did research my expenses and winnings for last session in the apa and napa leagues.

apa double jeapordy. 15 weeks time 9.00 = 135.00. won 75.00 for winning top gun. 60.00 expense to play apa last session.

napa 8 an 9 ball. 12 weeks time 12.00 - 144.00. my lo gave me 60.00 tonight for our team coming in 2nd place last session. 84.00 expense to play napa last session.

oh yea lemme expound on why my napa lo gave it to me tonight. he just happens to play on my apa team that played tonight so he brought my winnings to me.

do you see the big picture now? different leagues can co-exist in the same area without all the bashing you seem to generate on here.

the way you present yourself on here would make me not want to join your league and i darn sure would not want you on my apa team.

i am in no way judging you personally, just giving you my opinion of the way you present yourself on this forum.

Classy post, Zach. Rep to you.

I agree with you, Zach. I played APA for 10 years and have been playing NAPA for about 1 year now. NAPA's way better than APA. 'Score sheet pool' is exactly what APA is. Cheating is commonplace.

I know I'd rather play in a league where a local league operator can manually override skill levels whenever he wants.

Sorry to rain down on your parade.

So I'm going to assume that Les & Francee just refrain from manually moving skill levels? Is that what makes that territory so much better?

You and I both know when at Vegas just about every player magically comes alive and magically shoots 2 skill levels better.

In my opinion, if the APA sticks to their guns and continually praises their handicap system, I'm afraid in the next 5 years they will be eating it.

APA is 30+ years old. Time for something new. Time for something more affordable. It's time to start playing real pool, and not score sheet pool.

Start or Join a NAPA league in your area. You'll experience real pool, with a real score sheet.

No problem, Zach! You're okay in my book. If I ever make it up to Ohio, I'll stop by and we'll have a drink (on me) and shoot a few balls.

I'll send ya some green rep too.
