A question for cue collectors ??????

At what point is it more lucrative to have an older cue Refinished.
And at what point is an old cue worth more in its original shape.
The cue in question is an 1977 plain Tad, the cue plays great, But
The finish is worn off and it needs two new shafts. I know if I send
It back to Tad it will cost a lot of cash. But in the years to come
Will it be worth more refinished ???????

If the work is done by the original cue maker it will not effect the cues value at all, now or in years to come. If a cues condition is poor, as you have described, the cues value is already compromised and you also run the risk of further deterioration since the wood is not protected by finish.

The cues value will certainly increase if it is refinished by the original cue maker. The new shafts will still be Tad shafts, and basically you will have an old original Tad cue in mint condition.
