...turned up a Meucci, asking 149.00 and a McDermott, asking 90.00

The guy with the McDermott didn't know what it was but described the logo and said he would come down from 90. It's a 19 oz.

The guy with the Meucci didn't offer any other description. Will the Meucci have any info on it regarding weight or model #, or do you need to be a Meucci expert to know what it is?

Assuming they roll level and aren't damaged, which is the better deal? I have played with a McDermott and like it, never tried a Meucci but someone told me to avoid them because the shafts don't hold up.

Another place had some ques, he mentioned some Vikings but was too busy to help any more than that.

Any opinions?

throw the meucci in the trash

take the mc'd , if you played with one and like it you will hate the meucci.

my 2 cents.

they both will make GREAT marshmellow roasting sticks. but for real it a toss up. the mc'd is a stiffer hit than the meucci and they are both decent entry level cues.

Find a full-splice Burton Spain.
If not, go with the McD.

I've got a couple of those, didn't like the way they played so I made card table legs out of them. :)
