A real Mike Cochran Cue Collection!

My Cochran Cues

I would like one or two more. Any for sale out there call and chat!
The Eight Pointer was a guift from Mike and Timi. Lotta love there.
The green floating veneer Cue was one of the last four Cochran Cues to leave the shop.
The other Cue was a lucky pick up. I wasn't planning on ever going to show it again.
Hard to sell a cue with a story behind it.
JP and Timi and the guys in the shop got toether talking about Mike's Cues and came to the consensus no way there are 47 Cochran Cues. That the facts from the people that knew best. After all they were there.
Keep fishing Timi!

Eric,, I must say thats an amazing collection of Baltimore, Maryland heritage and cue making. Mike was one of the best if not the best IMO, its a total shame hes gone. Not because of his cues but because of the great person he was, But his talent for the art of cue making was top notch to say the least!

Congrats and enjoy them in good health and hope you can land a few more to the family. I am sure glad I was able to contribute 3rd from left,
14th from left, and 6th from the right....as nice as they are or were i dont regret selling them to you a bit because they go very very nice with the rest of them and its nice to see them lying out all together....enjoy and congrats again

Thanks for the help Steve.
Eric

This is my favorite and best Cochran ever built.Mike loaded it with gold.Mike was a true craftsman, and when you look at his work in your hands you can understand.

One day I got an email from Mike that had progress pictures of this cue. I called immediately and told him how awesome it was and asked who he was building it for.(I'll never forget his exact words)"You dopey".That was a great surprise.

Enjoy
Eric

This is probably the nicest cue that you own, in my opinion. Fantastic story as well...

It definitely left an impression on me when I saw it.

Thank you for sharing your collection of Mike's cues....

You are correct. No way 47. 46 listed, the ebony widow with suits cue missing, 3 others MC's that aren't for sell and I know where one MAK is. That is 51 minimum. The reason that no one will ever know exactly how many there were is he worked at his house as well. Unless there are only 2 MAK cues on earth, there are more for sure. Either way, Eric has the nicest collection out there on MCs. Period. Great collection.

You should be a politian

Sweet collection. Mike was a great guy and his cues played even better. 43 listed so far and only 1 MAK in that count. I would say there are probably closer to 75 of his cues. Give or take a few. Whatever the number, great collection.

Or a lawyer.Shouldn't validate things you can't trip over your own words with.
Probably 75 is not less than 47.
Thanks for your inpit,
Nick :)

I can't believe you were the sperm that won the race....:help:
You and me both. I actually thought of a couple more that aren't accounted for. I will modify my original guess. I would say 65 cues. But no less than 60.

Ask your buddy. He was the one who started the bashing. I have said only nice things about the cues. Eric, you have a great collection. No doubting that. Congrats on having so many of Mikes cues together.

How many - 06-26-2012, 01:37 PM
Here's a chance to find out how many cues there are.If everybody that has one post here with a picture or knows where one is. MC or MAK

31 in the picture
4 Steve
3 Nick
2 Scruffy1
2 Bnall
1 bus driver Ron ? Might be older TS cue
? Bushwacker Been told to me he has 2 (not confirmed)
1 PTEagle
1 ebony merry widow with dice
3 In Japan

I am not saying anybody is wrong but where is the proof ?

I just looked at photos of 17 MC cues that are not in my collection--present total=48

And in the cue world that is not many.

And if anybody feels they need to add to the Mike Cochran Collection feel free to contact me.

Just remembered 3 more. MAK 002, MC6 and MC26. So that brings the total to 54 that I know of? As far as proof goes, the person that has the three don't post on here and they aren't local for me so I can't take pics. I will be going to be in there area next year, maybe I can get together with them and take some pics..

Some times I wonder why all the negativity when we all just love cues.

Ask Nick...

If you collected Szambotis or Haleys, you wouldn't even know him. Think about that...

I've heard from at least 5-8 people that Mike and Tim thought he was a P.I.T.A. I know they are all not wrong.

I do not understand why he says what he says. He writes half of his post in the title which makes understanding nearly impossible.

He may be rainbows and skittles to you but he is a nasty man at times to others.

I have definitely misunderstood what he writes at times. Not all but some.

Mike's cues carry at least 4 differant logos. There are only 2 people on the planet with more Cochran Cues than I have at this time.
Eric and Steve. Only 3 more than Brian that I know of. We all loved Mike and his work.
We were lucky enough to be part of Mike's life.
Nick :)
I would still like to see the 4 logos. Eric, prove your boy right. Let's see a pic of all 4 logos.

I want to to understand

Everyone but you can't be wrong. The fourth logo is a double logo.
There are less than 47 Cues with Mike's logo's. There are not 3 logo's. There are not 75 Cochrans and all thou speculations that you utter are wrong.
No one cares what you want to see. You are insugnificant in these descussions. Your words are not worthy of value.
I want more Cochran Cues and I buy them. There is one Cue forgotten about at least and I am not desclosing it.
Still no way 47. Mike took the MAC signature off everything he got his hands back on.
He was very displeased with it's rough appearance because they were signed by hand for the most part in the forearm
Stop telling us worthless babble. If you had any respect for Michael you would have never sold a Cue you promised not to ever sell unless all proceeds were donated to Mike's family.
Nick :)

Stop telling us worthless babble. - Ultimate irony

Nick
- Who the hell are you to tell somebody what they can do with their own possessions? How many TS cues have you sold? If you had any respect for Tim (for the love of God, his name is not "Timi"), you never would have sold one. You see just how amazingly stupid that statement sounds now?

The cues are great.

Nick's continued ramblings in this thread degrade the enjoyment of coming back to it. From this point forward, I will call it the "Serdula Factor."

Haters be hating

Some times I wonder why all the negativity when we all just love cues.

Many don't understand it. These posters at one time or another had Scruggs and Cochran Cues and sold them. All that is left for them is hating how smart they thought they were.
Others collected. And know enough to be happy they did and enjoy their Cues.
If you do not own a Cochran or a Scruggs and are posting on this thread you are a poser.
Ever see one? If you do not own a Scruggs or a Cochran and are trying to be negetive it makes you fools known to all.
Apologies but fools stop hampering my trying to buy more.
I buy. I don't cry.
Nick :)

You, sir...without a doubt...are one of the dumbest people I've ever come across - be it online or in-person.

Just when I think you've scraped the bottom of the intellectual bucket, you go and drill a hole through it and keep digging.

You could have just posted the photos of Eric's cues, then moved on. Instead, you inject the "Serdula Factor" into the discussion...again...and drag it into the dirt.

You continue to do Mike and Tim NO favors by trying to be a champion of the cause. You're just a LIMFAC, and an embarrassment.

i have no dog in this fight but am i to believe that we are basing this on the premise that only az members own these cues? to the best of my knowledge there are big and small collectors that aren't members. does anyone think that maybe these collectors own some? just a thought.

guy
