Hi all!
I'm sure you remember the gorgeous Skip Weston I shipped couple of months ago to US during a trade deal via EMS and was lost without any sign. Until now..
The cue after 2 months reached the destination finally.. Broken..
Broken (split) forearm from joint down some inches and both shafts wobbled..
I can provide pics if someone who knows how to post them here and wishes to help emails me at: petrosandrikopoulos@yahoo.com
The cue was not insured (you can not insure anything here without providing purchace documents as original owner), I bought it here on az after it has changed a few owners and never thought asking Skip for a document stating the value of it. Why? If I was a well known cuemaker I'm not sure I would provide such a document for a cue I made years ago and it's located now overseas in a condition I cannot inspect first hand..
Anyway, I'm posting this for you fellow az members, I'm sure you all wanted to know what happened with this great art piece. It appears this happened during the process of automatic machines transfering the package possibly to a wrong plane or something, an explanation offered by one member. I think this could happen with any shipping company.
I want to thank you once again for all the support replies that you posted on my thread then and ask for your advice now.
Do you think it is possible to take off at least a small part of the loss?
Is it repairable/possible to sell for a small price? It was a 2.5k cue..
I hear proficient billiards has done miracles with cues..
The new owner will have to know the history of the cue's condition that is my strong wish. the only choice as any trustworthy az member would have, so please refer anyone that might be interested in this thread.
Posting of pics would help very much, I'm sure you agree.
So, can I do anything with it or should I just ask my friend to throw it away?
Any ideas/offers will be welcomed..
Thank you all for your time,
Petros
