a solution to racking issues, also solution to luck in break

Dechaine would still demand a re-rack.

"uhmmm...these 2 balls here are a mini-micro-millimeter above a 1/2 inch" (puts hand on waist)
And he'd be right since the wing ball is dead if the balls are exactly half an inch apart.

Give up and play 10 ball. Even better, go to a game that doesn't have smash, luck breaks.

This opening explanation pretty much sums up 9 ball. leave the game alone. It's just fine.

Lots of people think the break at nine ball is broken. I think there's a problem when racking technique (at rack-your-own) is a major factor in winning a major tournament such as the US Open, where it's happened at least twice. Do you think rack mechanics are "just fine"?

The only thing we need to change is sportsmanship behavior. I like the way Chris Miller at White Diamonds explains the racking rules.

No touching the one ball.
No touching the top of the balls
Mess around too much and he will rack them and it's final.

Mess around further and get banned for life.

next.
