A Template for trick shots?

The template covers the whole table and then shows you where to place the balls for each shot????????

Has anyone ever heard of this?

They don't cover the whole table but, here is a link. I have seen them in action and they work. They are templates for many different trick's and they are very easy to use and understand. Good luck

Stewscue, check out the thread below,read post #3 and check website out. Bob Jewett Book " The Shots of Artistic Billiards" 1987, page 5 show a position template [288 numbered holes]. It has a stepped section at one end that rests on the rail, while the major part rest on the bed of the table. It a thin flat sheet the size of one section. Also check

For Artistic Billiards at carom, each shot in the competition has the locations of the balls given in X-Y coordinates down to half a ball diameter. There is a template that is a flat piece of plastic with a hole drilled for each location. The template is a diamond wide and two diamonds deep, so placing the short end of the template against the long rail between two diamonds can get you to any spot on the table.

To set up any shot, the template is placed at the appropriate diamonds and chalk is used to mark through the indicated hole. There are some other details, such as a method for setting up close follow and draw shots in which the first OB is only 5mm from the cue ball.
