A Very Interesting McDermott

I seem to remember seeing something like that in a catalog.......never saw one in person though.... and can't even remember even what era they are from.....

Remarkable find......and very interesting.....

I did find this on Google. Does yours say Woodini on the bottom?

Response from McDermott;

This is from our Woodini putter series. We manufactured these in early 2000’s. They sold for $169-199. The one pictured would have been $199 with the multiple exotic wood head.

So that's what is in the worminator man cave. Thought it had a wood shaft, but couldn't see well enough on my screen. Very cool.....

Some additional info.....When the McDermott family sold the business, Larry Johns became the new president. He was an avid golfer and had the artisans design a line of clubs made from the enormous stock of exotic woods present in the factory. Each piece was truly a work of art and were very unique and beautiful.

He also tried to make use of their manufacturing capabilities with other items to diversify their capabilities and not rely on just cue production. They also made some num chucks and fighting sticks for the martial arts studios. These too had a billiard influence with some of their Wes Spencer tranfers applied to them...re..tigers, panthers, wolves, like on the cues.
