Boy you got that right.

I made a simple comment one time about working on a table and RKC pounced on my ass and kicked me hard,,, made sure I knew he was "The Man".

Back to the OP,,,,,,,,,,, no further comment from Coco???

He takes a big dump in the main forum and seemingly ran out the back door.
He might be related to Biden. ;) His posts sometimes reminds me of the Gropinator's on-line blog lunacy.

You're apparently delusional. The guy wanted his fkng table fixed and RKC screwed him. End of story. If what goes on here so offends you why don't you just bail????? Jeeez.

What he didn't get was his table fixed right away, but if he would have stuck to his agreement he would have.

Yeah I'll bail if you are uncomfortable talking about the truth, but you missed
part of my post as I was adding to it and putting a comma in. You got played dude. You and the whole forum.

sites have a shelf life

All interactive sites on the internet with only a few exceptions seem to have a limited shelf life then people move on to something or somewhere else. AZB is no exception.

I do think fragmenting the forum to the degree that it has been done is a mistake. Some of these forums should only be a thread. Forums should be the main, buy sell and trade, NPR, a cue smith's forum, and a room owners forum in my opinion. The hall of fame is fine too.

The aiming threads were an annoyance but should something so definitely pool related be split into a separate forum? All the instructor forums seem to see little action. Combining them into one thread should work.

Lockdowns certainly aren't helping but the forum issues were here long before lockdowns.

We need more to drive the main forum. Also, stickies need to be reviewed. Perhaps some are dated and others could be combined. I wish they would only be on the first page too but I don't know that the software has that capability. Last time I checked stickies covered over half of each page!

Admin is trying to moderate the forums with a lighter touch, something "everybody" wanted. Now that they are getting less moderation some aren't happy about that either. They want a forum ran just to suit them and there is only one way to make that happen.

I come and go here myself. The reason is simple. I have been here so long I feel I have very little fresh to say on pool related topics.

No real answers to get AZB back on track. Flourishing pool rooms and tournaments would help, I think some consolidation would help too but of course there were reasons the place was fragmented to begin with.

Are you talking about the guy with the rails, johnnyaims?? If so he got flat-out screwed. He paid for the job and 6mos after the due date still nothing. Someone else finally helped the guy out. I didn't get played by anybody. The people gettin' played are those that do business with guys like rkc and the Dallas cue seller. Get them off here and we'll all be better off.

You see that is my point.

That guy should have taken RKC to court and left it at that. Something went down between those two and he used a public forum to put pressure on rkc where he didn't
have a legal standing or he would have just filed $126 bucks and had him served. He would have won according to the way he presented himself here but he apparently
didn't want all of it exposed. Everyone ate it right up, even the guy that gave him some rails. He got exactly what he wanted. Sympathy and everyone fell for it.

What he didn't get was his table fixed right away, but if he would have stuck to his agreement he would have.

That guy screwed himself and then he led everyone here into thinking it was rkc and they all believed it. Are we really better off?

Apparently we are because you still believe it and I guess everyone else does too.

Since I'm not rkc I think I'll shut my end of this conversation down because everyone is happy he's gone. He is an opinionated someone when he knows his stuff.

There are several here that have received similar treatment that didn't deserve it over the course of time and that's why I said anything to start with. This was not just about rkc by any means.

The conversation was in response to the OP's thread.

Pretty long thread for when the OP ignored current events when commentating on the
state of pool....maybe he took isolating too far?

Ready to play Pool

I am sure ready for this covid thing to be over and start playing pool again.

Novavax has a drug in human trials that's produced 100% immunity and the market was up today on it. The article said they prognosticated maybe being able to deliver 100

When someone sues you in court and you don't show, you are automatically found to be at fault and a judgement is issued. Same thing correctly applies on AZB except the judgement is not in $$

Your are correct Internet Fourms, Message Boards, or what you call em come and go. One of the problems is people loose intrest in a hobby, passion, be it boat ownership, bicycling, showing dogs, or what ever the subject is, or was.

As I said AZ Billiards was in the beginning only Pool & Cue Sports Related, it was great years ago. Maybe the best Forum on Billiards & Cue Sports.:)

Now NRP is apprently the hot sub forum. I see it as a hot bed of people who already have their beliefs in NPS subjects, are not going to change their beleafs, but the sub-forum is more like a battle ground of people trying to start & participate World War III over politics, religion, or the latest breaking news, or off beat news.

Kind of sad the Forum that was like all things from "A" to "Z" Billiard & Cue Sports has changed so much.

Many old members have died off, and others just got tired of all the hate, and hating. Moving on, taking a break, just never came back, if they do its only to look, and they the good contributors never contribute any more.

Forum loss. JMHO. Don't like that? Tought Tacos.

Sounds encouraging. I'd take a pill to play pool.

What Once Was Has Since Changed........But Not For The Better.

Cocobolo C. is not someone I have any regard for whatsoever. His opinions on contemporary subjects are
just off the beaten path and he espouses aberrant minded comments about serious issues like COVID.

Even a blind squirrel stumbles across an acorn occasionally and this is his moment for clarity. A decade
ago the Az community was just as divided when there was a different President but the vitriol seemed less
than today. Over the past few years, our nation has become a battle of us vs. them and you might be on
either side because the emotions and fervor is dialed up way high in both camps. And the disagreement
that ensues invariably seems to escalate thus inviting participation by others and that leads to what it
always becomes of recent......ad hominem attacks. It has become just blatant and friggin’ ridiculous. And
this is also against the Forum’s decorum and actual website rules. So what’s to be done about it?

I think the NPR Section needs to go away. The Main Forum needs to stick to pool related matters. Politics
and Pool are not compatible. After President Obama was elected, politics started permeating threads & posts.
Under the current President, the tone has gotten much worse. People just find it difficult to even attempt any civil
discourse about political differences but that’s understandable when there is actual animosity being exchanged
in threads and posts. Wouldn’t it be great If there was a website that was dedicated to billiards? Nothing but pool
related subjects and somewhere you could show your back without fear of rebuke or getting shanked by another
member because you disagreed.....strongly. Wait a minute....isn’t that what most of us that joined Az were expecting?
Isn’t that what this place was supposed to be about rather than politics but you can’t discuss this virus without
also raising science, medicine, genuine facts, and how other nations are faring which automatically involves politics.

If you do not like what is happening in our nation right now, then cast your vote this November. Get off your
ass and go vote to change people holding office locally and nationally. Elect new officials to city, state & federal
positions. Change you city officials. Vote different people to your state legislatures. And elect people you want
Washington, DC. However, by no stretch should you belittle or personally insult another member’s political views.
The solution is don’t enable politics on the Forum, eliminate NPR and create more Mods to patrol for compliance.

Im not saying Covid is a hoax but you people who think its as bad as the media says it is may need to be seen by a mental specialist. The media and liberals have to flat out lie to try to make it look bad. Statistics prove that we have seen worse viruses recently and the healthy have never in history of the USA been quarantined before. And a certain segment of the population doesnt see something fishy going on here??

Exactly.. covid exists but the media has all of you hiding under your bed thinking your going to die from something that has less then .5 percent mortality rate lol Don't get me started on Pa who thinks its fine for you to goto Walmart with 500 people but if you goto your local chili's to have a meal with more then 10 people in the building your going to die. lol If this shit was real people like me in retail would be sick at an alarming rate... and were not lol

Below is the orginal OP's post. Below it is 1 of about 4 such posts in this entire thread that is political sorta or at least something that belongs in NPR.

This is post 79 which means the thread caught traction. For 4 posts out of 79 to be off topic that's pretty good.

Why do we need to change the conversation to lets get rid of NPR?

Pool is on the decrease so Cowboy's observation isn't wrong, the world is changing and we need more Pool Rooms not less. More activity means more talk about Pool.

If the site is to change with the times that would be to embrace the changes not throw away the business that it has.

NPR is fine left alone. The people that go there enjoy it for what it is and before Mike took it off the menu for lurkers there were over a hundred lurkers a lot of the time.
It does need some moderation because if rules were followed more people would enjoy it. Basic stuff like the rules we have in place now cover.

Where people get their jaw out of joint about NPR is when the click on the New Posts button and see all the activity. Remove NPR from that button and it doesn't affect anyone
else on the site if Pool is all they want to see.

Let the customers that like NPR have it.

In a time when Pool is on the decline throwing away business isn't the best idea. You could even require paid membership to go over there if you like.

The main has become a lot like NPR when you consider how much traction the attacks get here.

Pool is great, love Pool but until someone finds out that rent is cheaper in small towns and starts opening up rooms on a new plan that works, Pool is on the down turn.

When I took the screenshot there were 7 total threads on the new and 5 of those were coffee drinking posters on NPR.
The main was pretty well dead. Why blame NPR?

You want some more Pool Activity read peoples blogs and rate them. Maybe even comment. No one does that.

26 members logged in 138 guests on the site total this morning. Npr used to have a hundred lurkers in the morning just for it.

NPR-08-06 08.12.48.png

A- Z Billiards, the Forum has become to much about, non Pool things. NPA is getting to much play.

Use to be there were Tournment announcements, show caseing of Cues & Cases, Review of Cue & Cases.

Then you had Wanted, For Sale, and Trades.

Use to be everything "A" to "Z" about Pool, and Cue Sports.

Plus a few Pro player would once in as while chime in.

Forum original idea was great, Forum has change direction for the worst.

Anyone else agree?

Or am I alone on my thinking.

something that occurs to me relates to what hu said recently
he (and many others here) have had skin in the game for a long time
that "fresh" etc. stuff is in shorter supply, than perhaps it was, so..
less posting.
personally, I've only been really hot on pool a few years
and already, I feel less prone to mining certain aspects of the game
it doesn't mean I'm less curious, but it does mean that I'm evolving as a student
for that, I happily bow to the existence and generosity of this forum
but given the recent results of folks' ages here
I can't help but wonder if that's part of why there's maybe less pool here
and more silence and aggressiveness, politics, etc.
"new blood" (or lack thereof) in the game has been a topic of discussion
I guess there's something to that?

and yea, the political/social climate in our country/world right now is..vibrant.
so just as on the table, it's good sometimes to take breaks, reflect and renew
and maybe have a drink, etc...
