Accu-Rack "SOLO"

For the last few months I have been testing a different template design... With the material we use in our templates I wanted to see how much difference extra material made during the break for 9-ball and 10-ball AND I wanted to remove the center section so the rack can be removed after the break and see if that would change the ball spread......

On both counts.... the new template works.... I will still have 9-ball templates if you want them but from here forward the old 8-ball and 10-ball templates are done.....

If you have bought templates from us in the last year if you will PM me I will send you one of the "SOLO" templates FREE of charge....

These are low res photos of the new design and I'll post better images as we gear up for retailing these... They won't ship until 8-11...

Looks sweet. Much better than the "spider" 8-ball design. Should be easier to teach others to use, also. Less intimidating.

originally I wanted something so different that no one confused our templates with others.... The geometry and material has proven superior so it's time to conform to expectations at least somewhat...... MBR pretty much failed in Vegas at the CSI events... I don't know if the balls were worn or out of spec or not but WE can handle that where noone else can.........

Actually, your last point was something I was just thinking of. Without the "branches" of the old design, which were easily "folded," as it were, to allow balls to be placed on the outside but still frozen, how will the new SOLO handle smaller/mismatched balls?

WELL

When everything is ready I know I'm gonna be sending you some good pocket change...

20 tips
break tip
chalk
new rack..

get on that chalk and break tips!

The geometry of the cutouts is biased to the center of the rack... I don't know if I can still freeze golfballs to the corners with the new design but I hope to god your room owner doesn't let the sets get that bad......

=P.... Break tips are done... The "Solid" Leather will release next weekend..... The synthetic has been bubbed "Kryptonite" and will need a month of testing before it will be available.....

Our Medium soft and medium Hard will roll out when Kryptonite hits....

We have a new bridge head that will hit about the same time... It's called the Webhead......

As far as the chalk.... I need someone to call the local machine shop and tell them 4 weeks behind schedule is not good on my molds.... They don't seem to pay attention when I call...... They are personal friends and will get to me when the C&C is open.... So calling really won't help LOL....

Medium hard sounds interesting.

How about harder hard.

I don't think you can make a bad tip.

I am sure he can make a bad one...it just can't leave the lab

hahaha We make PLENTY of bad ones... Hopefully the QC checks catch them all before they leave.... The worst are the new "SOLID" break tips... There is a 30% fail rate on those bad boys which is why I kept holding off releasing them... After trying about 20 changes I have came to the conclusion that a 30% fail rate is just going to be the way it goes to get the performance I want.....

With that being said I do and have made up bad tips that make it thru as long as you are willing to cut it off and mail it back so I can test it and see why it didn't get caught during the final processing..... So far this year has seen a huge drop in that area.. We instituted a new control parameter and, "knock on wood", it seems to have eliminated most of the ones that were sneaking thru.....

Chris <--- Has made huge bags full of bad tips...... LOL

Well.

Honestly I'm wondering if I'm playing with one of the "bad" ones then.

I have 4 of your hard tips on different shafts and one in particular has a slightly different feel than the others. But it's also my favorite.

Thats one of the ones I gave you that is the basis for the break tip... It was an 85 on the durometer and it's plasticized where the others you have are 78 and don't go thru the plasticizing step...... If you remember I told you they were a new formula and I wasn't sure how they would play since they were going to be break tips.... =)

No I remember that one, but I'm pretty much 100% certain that's not on one of the other 4 shafts.

I have 4 on regular shafts and one on an OB Classic. Pretty certain the OB has the 'break' formula but the one I really like is on a Sugartree shaft.

Maybe I mixed them up though...
