I think Pat Fleming is on to something as far as Internet/TV Game Shows go. At first I didn't like it that he sharked the better players, but then he reminded players and viewers that it wasn't a tournament, it was a game show. I really think with a few changes to the format and a brand name MC or game show host (think Joe Rogan) it could be what mainstream America will watch.

I know it doesn't do much for the pros, but if you get a hit pool game show on TV it would be easier to get real pool (action matches and tournaments) on later If you haven't watched it on Wensday and Friday nights at 8:00 est, you might want to see if you like it. PS: They also have 4 drawings a week for the one picked to break and see how many ball they can run 9-ball and 10-ball). Last few weeks it was worth $750 a ball. Now that's a lot of cash ($7,500 in 10-ball/ $6,700 in 9-ball. Even two balls made gets you $1500.

I saw it a few times and unfortunately i dont think it can survive at any level. Just too boring for the average person and not serious enough for the tournament fan. JMO.
 
I play in both every week and it fills the pool room. As in there is almost no parking left. Also it gets the less experienced players involved more. It may not be of interest to mainstream America, but for pool halls, it's great to fill the room.

I think they need to get the word out on the Internet more. Maybe even have the people at home send their name and phone # in to the show. When they pick someone at home from the hat they get to share in the prize money or get a set of pool tapes or DVD's. Johnnyt
 
Johnnyt...that's a great suggestion. They are open to things regarding this, I'll mention it to Pat or Bill.
