Accu-Stats Difficulty Buying DCC Stream

Omg the stream is terrible. I have been buying the DCC PPV for years and for the most part been ok with it. However this is flat out ridiculous. I’ll give them a day to figure this out before I ask for a refund. It’s 2024 people. Dial up back in the day had better quality.

Just turned on the stream and was excited to see a good friend playing banks, Bob O'hashi, and the stream video keeps chopping but the sound seems okay though no commentators yet. I called AS and they said they are aware and are working on the internet.

Where have I heard that before???

hope it gets fixed fast
There will be no commentary on the side tables just the main one which will be the Bigfoot

With it being this bad with approximately 3800 simultaneous views of the banks tournament, this doesn't bode well for the main attractions ;(

If this is a bandwidth leaving the location issue, it can't be fixed any time soon.

I remember them having some issues last year, but this is ridiculous! The camera for Alex Pagulayans match you couldn’t even see the full table.

come on guys!!!

The Derby is one of the few events I consistently purchase every year. So many positives about this event, but it seems to be consistently plagued by poor streaming year after year. Being there is the nuts, but seems watching from afar is continuing to be challenging. I'm glad I went here first prior to purchasing. Hope issues get worked out for everyone who already purchased. I'll check back tomorrow and see if any progress has been made.

UPDATE: The stream is beautiful now on the feature table. They appear to have everything working well now.

I hesitate to jump in because I know they have good people working on it but I am sure there is plenty of bandwidth for the stream. The stream is only using 2 mb/sec or so. It doesn’t matter how many people are watching because they only send one signal to Vimeo and then the viewers pick it up from there.

The problem is likely that they are sharing bandwidth with everyone attending. If that is what's happening the hotel IT (or accu-stats) would need to separate out the bandwidth from the ISP and dedicate a sliver of it (20 MB or so) for the stream and let all the WiFi users fight over the rest. My guess is they are not doing that. The hotel may not know how to do it or may not have the ability to do it. Many outsource their internet connectivity to 3rd parties.

The hotel probably already has a separate connection (or dedicate bandwidth as mentioned above) for their business and admin offices. If they could allow Accu-stats to run a cable from that it would be much better but they might not want to for security reasons.

Don’t know about the hotel knowing how to do it but the people who took our money sure the hell should

Feature table stream is flawless now, and appear that only 2 simultaneous streams are going. There were 15 streams earlier with around 3800 viewers (if the "xxxx Views" is simultaneous/live and not cumulative).

The streamer would need to get a guaranteed amount of bandwidth in the contract, which could be achieved via quality of service configuration on the outgoing router. This is not rocket science, it is available on home user routers. The bandwidth issue could also be on the aggregator site (onsitepool.com). With fairly basic math you can calculate how many streams can be done based on the quality of the video stream. It is common practice to oversell services like this, never banking on all customers accessing at the same time. For an annual sporting event this model fails, you are almost guaranteed to get a larger number of simultaneous views.

If there is a wifi network between the cameras and the stream, with other devices, it is a recipe for disaster. QoS can't change physics.

Digital Pool is streaming the Bigfoot LIVE. Someone in the chat said it's because the PPV is having so many issues, they are giving this away for the viewers. Don't know how true that is as I didn't purchase anything for the DCC. The title of the Youtube link is incorrect but it is indeed Morra vs Atencio 4-2.

You said it better than I did. Thank you.
