Is there anywhere on Accustats web site or anywhere else that tells you how to figure players accustat scores? Thank you. Johnnyt

I think Bob Jewett PDF'd these Accu-Stats periodicals. If you click on one of them, I think the explanation should be there on how to compute the scores.

I've got a bunch of them too. If you can't find it, I can maybe do a quick re-type of one that I have here in my possession. Let me know! :)

I found it. I think I'll pass on trying to figure it out. Seems like it would help a full time sweater though. Johnnyt

I don't quite understand it either. Maybe one of the pool scientists who post on this forum will take the time to write an Accu-Stats 101 post for folks like us! :p

I could explain better in person. If you miss a shot easier than a spot shot it counts as 2 mistakes not one. All others count as 1 mistake.

scratch on break is 1. kicking error is 1. position error is 1. safety error is 1
kicking error is if you are hooked and you dont make a good hit. position error is if you try to run out but you dont' either because you have to play safe, or you miss the ball. safety error is if you play safe and your opponent makes the ball or hooks you back i think.

So you add up all the balls you pocket even the ones you shit in, and then add up the mistakes and add them to each other.

Example 70 balls pocketed plus 14 mistakes = 84. So 70 divided by 84=.833

Does that make sense?

Yes, thank you Donnie. Johnnyt

The accu-stats formula is what it is... a little subjective.

But since you play the ghost a lot a simple efficiency rating is easy to figure. To play even with the 9 ball ghost you need to make 9 out of every 10 balls. You'll make some balls on the break, but you'll also run some balls in the games you lose so I figure it's a wash. Divide 9 by 10 and you must shoot a .900 efficiency rating to break even. Ten ball would be 10/11, so you have to shoot a .911, and it will be harder to do with 10 balls on the table. Six ball ghost would be 6/7 or .856 and will be a little easier because of fewer balls on the table.

If you are comparing your speed to accu-stats ratings on taped pro matches, these ghost efficiency ratings will be very similar, imo.

Thank you...sounds like fun. Johnnyt
