The pre order for the Action Challenge 1 DVD is up on the Action Report store now. The DVD will be 14= hours long and include the entire event with commentary by Grady Mathews and Billy Incardona. Big Nasty, Jimmy Wetch, and myself make short cameo appearances in the booth as well. :D

Price is $74.95 shipped anywhere in the U.S.

Our sporty new DVD duplicator/printer will be here early next week and we will be cranking it up as soon as we get it. The set will be 7 or 8 discs total and the quality is great. The score is titled on screen after each game so you know what is going on. :D

We can refund your dough or put it toward whatever you like in the store. Not sure what the problem was, but we will make it right. Just let me know what you would like to do.

If you used an echeck that was the problem....takes awhile for those to clear. PayPal is imperfect but it is the best option we could find.

hi,

do you have any idea how much the shipping to belgium would be for multiple items?

i made some publicity, and some players from belgium are interested. to save on shipping we would like to ship them together. could you pm me or post here what rates would be for 1 dvd and for each extra dvd (in shipping cost)

thx alot jcin for all you work. Respect.

thx jcin,

pm answered

good luck with the next action match. looking forward.

i watched the whole match and it is 100% worth the price of the DVD's, granted it was rather one sided but watching Shane play perfect is worth it, more than worth it, and Cory did get close on day one and he is awalys fun to watch too. Buy it!!!

Its none of my business but I have to ask were there enough buys to make it worth while? I hope you guys made more than enough $$$ to cover the costs of the equipment and a tidy profit as well, this will insure more events in the future, of course its how the 3rd and 4th events do that will be the defining time to prove that the business model works because there might be alot of curiosity on the first few, thus pushing up the number of buys. I'll buy them all.

As a side note I just bought a $600 Gateway laptop with a 17" wide screen, its almost a desktop repalcment its so heavy but for 6 sheets its the nuts with all the newest software, i never used paypay in my life and am retarded with computers, hell i cant post a pic here, bu with that computer i got the match going in a few minutes the screen was just the right size etc. I didnt buy it for the match it was just luck-good timing, but what a machine for 600.

^ Fatboy, the nuts is a MacBook (pro). I really think you should look into them.

The price is more than right, very worth it... JCIN, if you need any help with any of that (or anything, frankly) shoot me a message. I E-mailed you my phone number, but I didn't get a reply - just let me know that you have it.

Thanks for the endorsement Fatboy. Glad you checked it out.

As far as numbers, they were on the low side of expectations but nothing shocking. I have seen some numbers thrown around and most of them are pretty far from the mark in both directions. For the very first effort I am happy. There is a hell of alot that can go wrong with a live PPV Stream. We worked hard and achieved our main goal of showing that we could provide good quality coverage in a stable stream.

Having the support of Mark Griffin and the BCA Pool Leagues along with Greg Sullivan of Diamond helped things along as well.

We are still way stuck on equipment, I won't even calculate the time, but we are loving every minute of it so far.

We will announce the date and venue of the Action Challenge 2 very soon, along with some other good stuff.

Sorry to interject any negativity in this thread...but I think $75 is too much. At that price point you are encouraging piracy imo.

Do you have it in HD DVD????? Just kidding....that would be nice though. Maybe someday there will be enough money for that in pool.

And I'm not sure $75 is too much at all. Accu-stats matches average about $26 for 2-3 hours of play. 14 hours of play thus turns out to be about 5-7 times as long yet only three times the cost. On that note why don't you check out how much the Color of Money race to 120 between Efren and Earl costs from Accu-stats. That should put things in perspective.

Also, no matter what the cost is it certainly doesn't make piracy any more morally permissible.

Can you guys tell me if you had several cameras taping this match? I.E. do you have several angles during the match? Thanks.

LOL, are you kidding me. That's like saying young girls wearing skimpy clothing are asking to be raped?

The price is waaaaaay more then fair. I would have paid more considering all we are getting. 14 hours +. Commentary by Grady and Billy. A history making match between 2 champions and is a race to 100 and 10-BALL!!!!

That price is more then fair, its gonna span across 7 or 8 DVDs even. It's gonna make one hell of a DVD set to have.

TAR, I will buy every Action Challenge DVD set you guys put out...

What I was trying to communicate is that with any product, be it this pool dvd or a set of new widgets, the manufacturer has a number of issues to take into concern. Besides the quality of the product, pricing and distribution are key issues. For the pricing of this dvd, you have the possibility you price it too low or too high. There is always a customer base that is not price sensitive and they will buy no matter the price. Below that level you have a much larger customer base that is price sensitive and in that group you have to seek to hit the "sweet spot" where you maximize the volume of sales. My argument, is that I would believe that sweet spot to be less than $75. Others here disagree and thats to be expected, marketing decisions are not a precise science.

TAR could market this product in a manner where you sell to the top segment first and possibly add in additional value like signed dvd cases or additional add ons that have a low cost basis. Electronic fullfillment is ideal imo, something like a discount ticket for % off on the next Action Challenge is something that comes to mind. You see this kind of marketing in many commercial dvd sets where they produce a deluxe version and then a basic version in attempts to access different segments of the consumer base.

My comment about piracy is not a comment on the ethics of piracy, merely that if you set the price point of a product too high, counterfeiters have a higher interest in your product and it also drives a certain segment of the consumer base towards the lower priced counterfeit product. Of this segment, a percentage of them can be convinced to buy in but it will usually take a value based argument since the ethics argument is not something that they value enough to change their course of action.
