ACTION during TUNICA

I'm not sure what your embarrassed about Jay but you don't drum up action by withholding the name of the player and then openly ask the forum for a steer man to help him find easy action. You should make those types of deals in private. If you know him so well why don't you be his steer man?

I remember when "The Russian" Stalev first came to this country. No one could believe that some Russian guy would come over here and bet high with the top players. Turned out he was the real deal, as we all know now.

I know this so far unnamed European player that the OP is talking about and it will take a pretty strong shooter to take him down. He loves to gamble and will have money with him. He is also the real deal! All the good players don't come from the USA and the Philippines anymore .

I'm a little embarrassed that this guy is sincerely trying to drum up action for his man and mostly he gets flip answers just because his English is broken. Only Bartram and CJ gave him the time of day. The guy plays games like Eight Ball, 9-Ball and Ten Ball. Maybe a little Straights too. Well after Tunica is over you'll know who he was. I'm betting he charges a few people before he leaves.

I hope he gets a lot of action

I was sniping the O.P. a bit because he wouldn't bring the name, but wanted to help his pal out. I think many others were also surprised to find out that he wasn't going to make the trip.

Either way the O.P. seems like a nice guy.

And just to clarify, my fruit hangs pretty low. Sorry for any unintended visuals there.

I hope to make it to the tournament again.

I will help him get games if I can. I'm a little busy when I get to Tunica, the action scene is secondary for me.

P.S. Want a good laugh? One of the best questions I've ever received came this week from another European player via e-mail. He asked me where in Tunisia was Tunica? I explained to him that it was in the USA near Memphis, TN. I couldn't stop laughing afterwards. I guess it made sense to him. You see how the language difference can sometimes befuddle people. This guy was ready to go to Tunisia to play in this event. I'm not sure if he will come now and I haven't heard back from him.

Check Ivica Putnik. This guy is not looking to hustle pool there, he just wants a fair game. He will bet real money too!

Road to action

My friend is one who you'll see if you come.I wish I could go and play and meet you.
However,I will need to wait some time for that.Hope that friend will have lucky to find some actions and to make well in those games. Also, hope he will find the wright Stier guy or maybe even find someone to backup him on few games.
Thanks for all notice and hope for more good suggestions.
Davor

Hey Davor, it's really easy to get your friend in action. Just ask any players from the Philippines and I'm pretty sure they will accept the challenge. They will play him any game he wants.

He'll get all the action he wants, and more!

Not sure there is a single one who would like it in 14.1!

Jay, while I did respond a bit "tongue-in-cheek", I was actually somewhat serious. Bartrum will almost assuredly play him. As far as Hungarian, well, his statement was probably one of the funniest woofs I've ever heard or read. I don't know you, Hungy (can I call you that? :D ), but I almost thought you were really serious.

I guess my point is, if he's trying to hustle (and it appears that he isn't), he's going about it the wrong way.

If he's looking to drum up action, all he has to do is show up in Tunica, go to the Convention Center where the action rooms will be.....walk over to a table, screw his cue together and nonchalantly lay down a stack of bills on the table.....and clear his throat.

There might be some negotiating occur after that, but I think it will be like flies to honey.

I'm a complete nobody in the pool world, but I was at the 2012 Tunica event. If he would like a list of people that openly look for action, in no particular order, well, here ya go:

Shane Van Boening
Billy Incardona
Danny Smith
Chris Gentile
Chris Bartrum
Jonathan Pinegar
Efren Reyes
Dennis Orcollo
Francisco Bustamante
Scott Frost
Justin Hall
Alex Pagulayan

I'm not knocking anyone's action, because there's some players in there that are obviously better than others. Anyone could take 30 seconds and find any of those players' list of accomplishments online. And that list could go on and on. In fact, I'm sorry if I left anyone out. Lol. I do know that some big name players prefer tournaments and don't like to gamble.

But, if the guy is serious about action.....for serious money, there's a start. If he's looking for fish, he's going about it the wrong way.

..........oooooooooor is he.

Perhaps we'll look back on this after Tunica and say, "That was so crazy, it effin' worked!" :D
