action stamina --time separates all players

So let's hear some other stamina stories...

Allen Hopkins on one of his trips to New Orleans to play Earl Heisler some one pocket lamented that he could not play his best pool for longer than 3-4 hours.

I wish that I had the stamina of players who can play for dozens of hours. I just don't have what it takes to play for dozens of hours but I have taken to eating a little something every couple of hours and that seems to let me hold on a little longer.

A visit to the bathroom to wash my hands and cool my face in the water from the lavatory helps and every 8 hours of walking around the pool table there is only one thing that helps my feet and fatigue and I got that tip from OldHasBeen-remove your socks and shoes and soak those tootsies in a couple of flushes on one of those Kohler toilets and you will be good for another few hours of play. You should use a little disinfectant in the toilet before washing your feet but that goes without saying. You will be surprised at how refreshing that can be.

I once played all night and drank about 4-6 pots of coffee over an 10 hour period. I came out a winner when the guy ran out of money but the same guy came back the following week and toasted me as I won no games in over 12 games. Good thing for me, he decided to lower the bet the second time around. I felt poorly for about 2 days with aching feet and all but that was before I knew about rejuvenating the feet.

I played

31 hours straight once down at Burke's Steakhouse in a 3 way ring 9 ball game for $50 a man per game, (or $100 a game).

After that, I shot a race to 11 for $1,000. My hard contacts broke down on me, and I also could not see.

Shot around 20+ hours several times, but try to stay under 24 hrs since I wear contacts. 10-16 hour sessions were pretty common back then.

Great story man, I enjoyed reading it! That guy must be mentaly strong if he was able to play 33 hours striaght and still do good. Where is this pool hall at? So you have a race to 8 games for 100$? And you do how many times?

Joey,
I think, all in all, I would prefer the amphetamines.

P.S. - If you visit Betmore's Basement, we will allow you to use the shower (the dogs don't want someone washing their feet in their "water bowls").
