Action

hey everyone,

I'm a daily lurker of the forums but felt compelled to post. My favorite threads are always the ones about action. Well Pittsburgh has been dead for action for about a dozen yrs. but over the course of the past month, ever since Paul Mottey held his tournament at Breakers, we have had some of the best action in the country on a daily basis. We've had some of the best road players in the country coming through on a daily basis.

The other night Doug Young and Chris Bartrum matched up for several large jellybeans with Doug getting the last two and Chris came out on top.

I noticed that no one on here has given any action reports on what has been going on here so I took it upon myself to do so.

I'm heading out tonight to sweat some action and maybe get some myself and will update this thread with all the details tomorrow. The action threads are my favorite to read and I don't think I'm the only one.

If anyone is in the area or is going to breaker's feel free to introduce yourself and maybe we can play some cheap sets. Take it easy on me though cause I haven't picked up my cue in a few months. I know you've heard that one before but it's true.

Hahaha! Then we MUST give you a spot, just for fairness' sake!;)

Surprising that ptsbgh has dried up, so many good players around there, not just PA, but OH too...should we send Slivka back?!?! ;) :D

I was at Breakers in Pittsburg last week, and seen Doug Young give Larry Price the 8 ,with Doug winning 2 Dimes. Also Jason Klatt beat Mike Dechaine 10 ahead for 2 Dimes. Doug Played Chris Bartrum another 10 ahead set, with Chris winning again. AS TREY SAID, A LOT OF ACTION AT BREAKERS, BEATLE.........

I thought that Shane Hennan (sp?) and that group of young players kept the cash rolling pretty good. I can't remember their names for sure, but I THINK it was Shane, Ryan Ziegler, Adam Maloney, Shane's brother (Colin?) and some guy named Jabbers or Jeebers or something like that.

Shane Hennen won the WV State 9-Ball Championships here at Strokerz last week. Jabber is still around I think, Adam Maloney is in college in TX i have heard, Collin from what Shane says isnt playing much any more and Ziggy I'm not sure about

Jabber is no longer around,he was about a C player who would match up with anybody and had a very large bankroll. One night a couple of the guys tried to highroll him and he said I'll be back in 15 min. He came back with a grocery bag filled with 50's and 100's, not sure how much it was but it was alot. That was his game to highroll people, I guess he didn't like it when somebody tried it to him. Ziggy (Ryan Ziegler) quit playing also. Shane Hennen was there last night and took a few dollars off of scooter. Having the two of them in the same room is very entertaining. Matt Clatterbuck and Jason Klatt matched up the other night playing even and Jason took it for a few dimes. They matched back up with Matt getting the last two, 10 ahead and the match went for two days. Jason was 8 and 9 ahead numerous times and Matt would claw it back to even. Eventually Matt outlasted Jason and took it down. I will say this Matt has ALOT of heart, there were many times in that set that he could have thrown in the towel but he kept fighting back and came out winner.

Javier from New York and Ketter from Alabama matched up 10 ball, race to 21, with Ketter getting the call 8. Ketter won the set.

Other action was Shane Jackson winning over a kid from Columbus playing one pocket, not sure of the exact game, but I think it was a couple hundred a rack. Bill McCollim was also in action with David Grau, not sure how that turned out.

Hopefully I can keep these reports coming.

Larry seems to be doing a bit of traveling. I don't know Doug Young but to give LP the 8 he must play pretty strong. I have seen LP play lots of players and have never seen him get a spot. Kind of strange he gets one and loses. Although from reading some other places lately LP seems to be booking quite a bit of losers. Maybe his game ain't what it used to be.

I heard a rumor that he may be coming up later this week.

As for action updates Doug Young lost and left for ATL. John Morra is in town now, Ronnie Wiseman is supposed to be coming.

Clatterbuck and Klatt matched up again playing even, set isn't over. Scooter and Sugar Shane are going to play tonight for 5 dimes.

Tons of action with more to come.

KY BOY, LP & Doug are friends of mine, I have been on road trips with both of them several times, but Doug is the better player. LP told me he is 56 now, and had some health problems 2 years ago. But at 56 his game may be off some, although he is still a good player. Beatle.........
