Adam cues knock off Schons?

Hi everyone,

I recently traded for a cue that was represented to me as a Runde Schon. After some research and some help from Evan Clarke at Schon, I have come to learn that the cue is actually an Adam cue. From what I understand, Adam knocked off some Schon models a while back and the cue I have appears to be one of them.

Does anyone have any additional info on these cues or maybe some photos? Does anyone here own one?

There are photos of the one I have in this section. The thread is titled "Runde Schon" I would really appreciate it if anyone has any info on theses cues. I have to be honest, I'm having a difficult time accepting this is an Adam cue. The cue is VERY well constructed and when seeing it in person it appears to everyone to be of much better quality than just some run of the mill production/knockoff cue.

Thanks for any help!

The large rounded brass nubbin/pilot on a Schon shaft is kind of unique and much larger than most.
I do have a couple of older Schon shafts that the nubbin is not rounded, but they are still large and definitely Schon's.
I didn't see a pic of the shaft inserts but I doubt they are Schon Shafts.
Also the butt cap is different.

Here's a link if anyone is interested

Well, whatever it is...it's still a nice looking cue and appears to be quite a player. I hope you didn't lose too much on this deal...

Adam built some pretty nice cues...and the appearance (at least) of the quality can be top notch on some of them...so differentiating it that way really won't work all the time IMHO.

I have personally not heard of Adam made Schon knock-offs. Could it be Adam? I guess so....

jayman seems to be one of the resident Adam experts, maybe he will know more about this?

Either way it is a darn nice cue, but there would of course be a substantial difference in value. I hope you didn't get hurt too bad on this one.
