Advice on a cue

Looking to get a different cue sometime in the near future and just wanted a little input. My local pool hall has a variety of Steve Klapp Cues that I have had the chance to hit and the are very nice. Also looking at maybe picking up a Schon but I have not had the chance to play with one. Would the hit be similar between these cues? Anyway just wanted to know which way you guys would lean.

I like both Schon cues and Steve Klapp cues but I don't think the hit is the same . The schon has a 5/16x14 piloted ss joint and all of the Klapp cues I have seen ( I own two ) have a 3/8x10 wood to wood joint . Im not saying one is better than the other that is a matter of preference .

I know that a lot of locals around here play with Klapp cue's for a reason they look and play great ! Steve is a great guy and stands behind his cues 100%

You can not go wrong with a Schon. For the money, they play the best of the "production" cues. Even the least expensive one (I use one for a break stick) hits hard. The shafts are essentially the same. Only the amount of "bling" on the butt changes the price.

If you decide to go "custom", start with a "sneaky pete" from the cuemaker you like. Then, if you decide to donate additional funds, you will know exactly what the hit will be like.

Don't be fooled by the price of the cue or the amount of bling. It's the balance, the hit and the feel in your hand that are really important.

Larry,

I play at Bull Dog BIlliards up in Dubuque and the owner Curt has a pretty basic Klapp cue no points with a linen wrap that he said he would sell for $250.00. Does that price seem about right. I have no idea what the price points on these cues are.
