There are a host of great systems out there. The only problem I've ever seen with "most" of the systems is that they require too much conscious thought to accomplish... this will wear you down over the course of a long match or a night of pool.
Years ago, I wrote something that, after you choose a method of ball pocketing that works well for you, might help you eliminate most of the conscious thought. It certainly helped me and a many others that have tried it.
It's really nothing new... no rocket science, no special potion, no pixie dust to buy and sprinkle on your cue... just common sense. I'm not selling anything, just offering this to anyone who wants to see it.
I tried to paste it to this board, but it is way too long for the 13K character limit. If you're interested (if anyone is interested) just send me a PM with your email address and I'll send it to you.
Keep in mind that no system that ANYONE can teach you will work well without good fundamentals... stroke, stroke, stroke! To me, that's what it's all about. Once you have conquered the fundamentals, or the foundation of the game, then a good system will give you a shorter road to good shot making.
I'm probably going to start another fight! I use a system to pocket balls. The one I've settled on after trying all others is Stan Shuffett's ProOne. I know ProOne is a touchy subject on this board, so I'm not trying to sell anyone on it or push it, just saying that it works well for me. I LOVE it, it makes it EASY for me to see the shots, esp the tough thin shots, and I just nailed second this past weekend in what is probably the biggest, most prestigious tournament in Arkansas using it.
Did I "burn it in" with the method I outlined in the article that I wrote? Absolutely!
Stroke straight, finish well...
