Its kinda funny, when you see a picture of these two where Alcano just won, it does little to inspire one as to the excitement that may have taken place. It looks like so many pictures of pool players that have won in the past in the smaller events NO SMILE almost depressing, the only one smiling is the non-participant.

Its kind of like my take on most post-competition media interviews: These people, generally, don't have anything to say and they're mostly exhausted from what has just transpired and just want to get away to somewhere they're more comfortable. The media thinks that we, as spectators, want to see, touch, and get personal with the combatants, the "stars". Its stupid. They've just dogged it out thru umpteen matches, games, winners side, losers side, waitin around for hours to play, bullcrap from the tournament, opponents, spectators, girl/boyfriends etc. etc. when its over, even if you won, the smiles are tough. :D

mm im not sure i agree. i think its part of there 'job' as a profesional. if u want the media coverage u have to add your part too. give and get, and be ready for some intervieuws. i know that after i won, im rambling about EVERY single ball and explaning EVERY single shot to my girlfriend when i come home and that for hours untill she really makes me SHUT UP :D

I know, guess all I'm saying, is for all that the room owner has done to create and support the event, its not too much to just smile :) :)
