Just wanted to start a discussion thread on Alex's cues

I have owned several Brick's, still play with one. I also have had the pleasure of designing a cue from Alex and picking out the wood that was used. He was very easy to deal with, fair on the price and he gave me and accurate TOD for the custom.

He is a pretty good player as well. I had the opportunity to play some 9 ball and 1 pocket with him while he had downtime.

BPG -

I will always check out your threads just to see your avatar:D , but could you post some of Alex's work? I would love to see what he has done.

i guess the best way to contact him is at JOB,he works there 5-6 nights a week between 6-9 central.the number is (615)868-4270 and ask for Alex Brick.

Here is a pic of one of my favorites that he made. It is one of his older cues

I play regularly at JOB's and have had the pleasure to meet Alex on a few occasions. I was playing APA during the Music City Classic and he was in his shop, so I decided to give him my shafts for a little TLC.

He looked at my J/B shaft, a Fury, and raised his eyebrows.

"A phenolic tip? Huh... how about I put a man's tip on that for you."

He handed the shaft back 10 minutes later with a White Diamond, and I've been glad that he did ever since. Great guy, great cues.

WHAT IF I TOLD YOU THAT I COULD GET YOU THAT CUE, AND THAT IT WAS STILL LIKE NEW? WOULD YOU BE AN INTERESTED BUYER AT A RESONABLE PRICE FOR BOTH OF US?

It can't hurt you to show me the pics and the price. ;)

I've been a friend of Alex for over 20 yrs and I've sold many of his cues this last decade. It's not my style to inundate people with hyperbole so all I'll say is TRY THEM, YOU'LL LIKE THEM.

You'll also see why it's easy to simply "GUARANTEE SATISFACTION":D

If anyone has any questions about ALEX'S cues either I and/or MASON H will be happy to respond.

Sincerely, Adam

Which brings the question.
DO they hit like a Brick?
I just couldn't resist.
:)
His cues are simple , not gawdy, but stylish.

Too funny, I have the exact same set-up on my Fury J/B. I love it too.

As for Alex Brick, I have a buddy that played with one for a long time and it was a great cue.

IT'S ACTUALLY FANCIER THAN THE ONE YOU HAD PICTURED. I THINK WITH ALL THIS WORK 2400 IS FAIR. CUE IS IN LIKE NEW CONDITION.

That is certainly a looker.

I would be very surprised if that cue cost more than $1500 new from Alex when it was built. I had a fancier (12 point with custom coco rings) cue made without ivory that was well under $1000 new. I also bought a fancy 6 point ebony/ivory cue for about $1250. His prices are higher now and he has changed pins.

Someone is charging you too much IMO. :)

I got excited earlier when you mentioned a fair price

NOBODY IS CHARGING ME ANYTHING. IT BELONGS TO A FRIEND, HE WAS CONSIDERING SELLING IT, SO I GAVE YOU THE INFO I GOT FROM HIM.

IT'S A SHAME FOR ALEX THAT HE BUILDS CUES LIKE THIS ONE, AND NOBODY WANTS TO PAY ANYTHING FOR THEM. IF I BUILT THIS CUE, AND PEOPLE WANTED TO PAY THE NUMBERS YOUR TALKING ABOUT FOR IT, I CAN GAURANTEE, I'D NO LONGER BE BUILDING CUES.

NO SKIN OFF MY BACK, I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP YOU GET A CUE THAT I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE.

I appreciate you asking for me!!!

I agree that Alex should get more recognition and be able to get more for his cues. They play great!!!

Like I said his prices have gone up and I hear that the build quality is even better than before. i still haven't played with one of his newer cues

That cue has to be at least 6-7 years old. He started putting his AB symbol on them in 2001-02 I think. I have had so many now that I get some of them mixed up.

Hopefully Adam will chime in. He may know exactly what it cost back then and what a new one would cost like it today.

Are you going to list that cue for sale here?

If so, I will let my buddies that are fans of his know about it

Fury J/B with white diamond .. me 3.

Alex Brick, nice hitting cue. I have a burl wrapless cue with ivory joint and it hits sporty. Only thing is I don't like the finish on the cue as it tends to get sticky.

WE MAY LIST IT HERE, BUT IF IT'S NOT GONNA GET ANY ACTION AT THAT PRICE, THEN IT MIGHT BE A WASTE.
