Most Calcuttas they expect the player to pay half the bid.
I once had a guy bid me up a few hundred dollars. The tournament director gave me shit about not paying half. I wasn't even in the room once the bidding began. I knew my rating was crap and i wasn't putting more money in.
You said play half, not pay half.
It ain't for everyone, that is for sure.
