Alex just CRUCIFIED Efren

Any pool pro who takes a year practicing on a snooker table, will no doubt come back with perfect pool stroke, stance, and aim, will be hard to beat. Look at all american players, their stroke is at least 6 to 8" whereas Alex barley moves his shaft 2-3" ..huge key to making pots long ones especially.

Congrats to Alex.

It seems like Alex's stroke has always been 2-3" practice strokes and only slightly longer than that for his final stroke; even long before his recent snooker adventure. He doesn't poke at the ball like Tommy Kennedy, but he's surely not like Busty :D

Alex...

Alex is probably in the top three of best all around players and can beat anyone in most disciplines on any given day.

I think the reason many don't look at him more often as the top player that he is, is that it's hard to see him as the favorite against the absolute best in their individual disciplines.

He can beat them for sure, he just isn't the favorite in any individual discipline when talking about the absolute best.

$800/$500.................:groucho:, but SA, ya just Had-ta'-Ask didn't ya....;)

He didn't specify how he was favouring SVB over Alex. Was 8/5 the money, or is it games? The bets have been made both ways before. Some players have been given games on the wire. "I'll take SVB even money, giving X 30 games to 100". Or, they've bet 8/5 on the money. I was just asking :)

Some people have commented that playing more snooker has helped his game. Probably so, but what I found ironic (while watching him last night) is he was jumping up a lot. Something you never see most snooker players do.

But I think he's always been a bit of a jumper, and it doesn't seem to effect his game that much.*

*I am not advocating anyone to start jumping up on their shots :)

He's been doing that since he got elbow trouble....
...jumping up eases the pain on the follow-through.

Shawn Armstrong:
So, you'd give Alex 30 games to 100, based on SVB being an 8 to 5 favourite?
jsp:
Those don't even come close to meaning the same thing.
Does 8/5 odds mean Shane should win 8 games to Alex's 5 games over the long run?

If so, then it takes 37 or 38 games to 100 to even it up.

His name is mentioned plenty in this thread http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=302812

Just face the actual fact that you're wrong. It's not the first time.

Um, he was not even "on" some peoples top 10 lists.

Nevertheless. I think you might be the most annoying and pointless poster on the entire of AZB. I have never seen anything of worth from you whatsoever.

You seem to think the same about me.

How about we both do each other a favor and agree to never respond to each others posts ever again, I would be completely cool never having to interact with you again at all as I find it a complete waste of my time.

Oh, you mean like this guy?

In no particular order...

Reyes
Frost
Nevel
SVB
Gentile
Owen
Joyner
Deuel
Daulton
Schmidt

Sorry, but anyone who says Schmidt is a top 10 one pocket player is just as clueless as you are.

I've contributed plenty to these forums. Sure I make sarcastic remarks, and yeah, I can be a bit of dick sometimes. But that's mostly in response to those that make ignorant claims.

Oh, you mean like this guy?

Or the last guy, who put another boat load of players with questionable credentials into the list, and no Alex.

I never once said that some people do not know Alex is dangerous. What I said is that he very well might be the best 1-pocket player out there when he is into it and the money is right. And he is "often" overlooked by a great many people. That whole thread has people yacking away about how good people like Sylver Ochoa is, that guy would run like hell from a 10k ahead set against Alex, as would almost anyone on most of those top 10 lists.

You ask who the top 10 10-ball players in the world are do you think "anyone" would leave SVB off the list? If even 1 person did that it would be absurd. But there are "many" people who leave Alex off of a top 10 1-pocket players list. I find that almost as insane, Alex not being on anyone's top 10 list in 1-pocket is nuts, and TBPH he should be pretty freaking high on anyone's list.

I still disagree with the first sentence in bold, but at least we finally found some common ground.

See, we don't have to be enemies :)
