Tony just got a call from the IPT. Alex had passport issues and he can't play against Boyes so they are having Tony Robles fill in for Alex in addition to doing the commentary for the Sigel/Schmidt match.

If this is in fact true, all bets are null and void.

as are all payouts, rules, integrities, and words of good faith, per KT's policy of not having a policy.

While many of IPTs dealings are a bit shady, I don't think we should blame them for Alex not being able to come over to play. Although I thought he lives in Canada, do they even need a passport to come over?

I would hope it would go without saying that bets placed on a match between two players do not apply to a match between different players.

Yes, we now need passports to come across the border because we Canadians are all terrorists Eh!
But I think that Alex may still be a Filipino?

Funny thing. All my life I've lived near and loved Canada and Canadians. Since 9/11 I've heard more Canadians prove they are not our staunchest ally than in all the combined memories of the 56 years of my life. You may think that I'm taking this too seriously, but for Americans it's a serious subject. We can't have open borders any more. If you don't get it, oh well. I figure you need us more than we need you...Tom

Only if you fly from Canada into the US, until 2009. We usually fly from Buffalo anyways.

As a Toronto area kind of guy, I would have flew out of Buffalo, just your drivers lisc is enough to drive into the US.

I thought Alex was living in Hawaii with his ladie Ms. Choi and kids so he would already be in the US, right ?

I don't know how this could possibly be the IPT's fault.

I didn't say it was their fault did I? Let me reread, hold on.

Nope.

Just stating that every one of the IPT's events, tourneys, infomercials, whatever have difficulties. FACT

So you posted in this thread to just generally complain about the IPT?

Well done.

They are incompetent bafoons, that screw up everything they touch. So its just a coincidence that the one time the Lion can't get into the US its for an IPT event....I hardly think so.

that sucks... good for boyes though! lolz. alex is in the philippines he just played in the PPT i think thats why he couldnt make it. jus a guess

It's unfortunate that Alex cant make it but I think this is a great opportunity for Tony to show his stuff off. He's has always been working really hard to promote pool in the tri-state area along with all the lessons he's been giving. Things are going well for him and we wish him success in this event as well. GO, TONY, GO!!!

Yeah Tony has been working hard setting up that predator 9-ball event in New York. He's a great player who hasn't got enough T.V. exposure like the other greats Johnny Archer, Shane Van Boening etc. This would be a good opportunity for the world to see what the man can do with a pool cue.
