Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

It's 3 pm here on the East Coast.

2 am in Thailand.

In any event it starts in 1 1/2 hours from now.

I think everyone is getting way ahead. Alex needs to win this afternoon, and then tomorrow before we can start speculating about whether he can make a living a snooker.

Good luck Alex!!

well its only 1:30 here in thailand but the match has already started in fact 1-0 alex...
btw alex is the only player in event 2 to have not lost a single frame!

Although Alex isn't posting centuries it's quite possible that his tactical game learned from one pocket is paying off.

He could be playing some non-standard patterns that end up frustrating his more snooker-seasoned opponents.

I can imagine that not having a requirement to hit a rail after contact really allows Alex a lot more creative latitude to apply his one one pocket knowledge to the safety game.

He probably isn't running until he misses but instead running until it's time to play safe.

Or not..... :-)

Anyway this is exciting, go Alex!

Interesting to see also that Daniel Wells is down 2 frames to 0. He has been super strong. Lee Walker and Adam Duffy are at 1 apiece.

I can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alex is playing Wild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

..oh, my mistake, it's Michael Wild.

so chesscat what time did this match start - please explain in all appropriate time zones.
i have no idea - you are the expert.

From what I gather, they're playing in the UK (Gloucester) which is 5 hours ahead of United States Eastern Standard Time.

So 7pm start time there would be 2pm EST here.

I was going to try to work in a "wild" lion joke but nah....
never was one for puns!
anyway this Wild guy has seen pro tour action - played Domenic Dale, O'Sullivan and Tony Drago.
