Just finished reading The Other Side Of The Road. I really enjoyed it! Afie's account of his years on the road made for a good read. I've always wanted to know more about Eddie Taylor, Bill Staton, and U.J Pucket. Alfie traveled with, and was friends with quite a few legends. He offers a lot of insight about the life he led, and the tough situations they faced. I Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :thumbup:

I tried to get one when I was at the Derby, but they were sold out! I went to visit a dear friend in Myrtle Beach, and she happens to be good friends with Alfie. She snagged me a copy. I'll ask Alfie to post when the next run of books will be available. They might be already. :thumbup:
 
Forgot to mention a couple other interesting parts. Alfie was in attendance of some of the Johnson City Tournaments. Had also encounters with Fats, Richie Florence, Titanic Thompson, and many more. Hope you enjoy the read as much as I did! :thumbup:
 
I just finished the book.

I enjoyed it a lot. The tone of the book, the author's voice, is very comfortable-like listening to stories told first hand in the pool room.

I hope there is another to follow. Morocco stories - do they play pool there?

I know that Alf is in the process of setting up a Website for ordering the book and DVDs as well. I believe it is alftaylor.com, but it may not be functional quite yet.
 
Love all the nice words 'bout my book

But I'm afraid I am guilty of being better at producing items than I am at selling them. I did the same thing in the 90s with my DVDs. Produced them, got great reviews, patted myself on the back and shelved them. It's a good thing I use my own money or someone might bust my pumpkin.
Now, thanks to Bill Porter and these pool sites, I'm bringing all of my goods out of retirement, if not for profit, just to feed the old ego.
