To be perfectly honest, someone with a physics background couldn't shed anymore light on this than anyone else around here. Let's be fair, even without any knowledge of physics we all are aware that the probability of it happening is astronomical. Add in the fact that it was caught on video raises those stakes to a word that doesn't even exist. But, in reality, it could happen. It's as simple as that. A genius in physics tossing out a bunch of numbers couldn't give you anything more than probability, which doesn't mean that it couldn't happen, just that the odds are pretty far out there. And I'm not trying to be a jerk with you either. I'm just saying that just because the odds of it happening are out of this world doesn't mean that it couldn't happen. I still call fake on this particular video though.
I was breaking one night, slammed the rack as hard as I could, the cue ball jumped up off the table, took one bounce and came to a dead stop on top of the rail like someone had set it there with their hand. What are the chances of that happening? I have absolutely no reason to make that story up, and probably couldn't if I tried. But it happened. I would imagine the numbers on that happening are pretty outrageous.
