All Japan Championships

faraon is on the hill, executes an awesome counter-safety, then Li jumps a long shot and makes the 1 ball!

after a long safety-battle, faraon wins the rack on the hill.
he now faces Oi Naoyuki in the finals.:thumbup:

Faraon wins 11-7 and is facing Oi in the finals. Breakout performance for him but he will be the underdog in the finals because Oi has the home court advantage.

a new champion

:happydance::happydance:Congratulations Raymund Faraon, the 2014 All-Japan Open Champion:happydance::happydance:

Wu Zhi Ting from Taiwan. Never heard of her, but she beat the better known Liu Sha Sha in the finals 9-3.

That gal was recently state-side, hanging out with adorable Caroline Pao, of Mezz USA, getting US experience. Good for her!!! The match is not on ustream recorded though :(

Congrats to Raymund indeed...He was shaky in the middle and towards the end but he took rack 19 from Oi after Oi broke dry. Anyone know what the payout is for the champion?

Just one more in the seemingly endless line of pool champions to come out of the Philippines. It must be the water! :rolleyes:
P.S. I haven't seen the payouts anywhere for this event.

Japanese events tend not to list the payout, but past years have been Around 2.3 million yen, with the recent weak yen, that would be roughly $20,000.
