What's the size of the Allen Wrench weight bolt on the Schon's? Is it different on the R Series?
Thanks.

Never knew they used an allen head screw except to hold on the bumper. I have an R6, from the factory that uses a straight slot screw.

If you do not have a set of allen wrenches, take the cue to your local hardware store and try a few. They do very a bit.

However, try 9/64.

I've never tried to unscrew the bumper on my Schon. I was told by someone that the bolt and/or bumper screw was put in with place with a thread locking compound like Lock Tight. True or False?

That may be true, I don't know. But I have removed the weight bolt from many Schons w/no problem. All I can suggest is you try it, and if it doesn't budge, stop.

Never heard of that. The weights are supposed to be adjustable. Dont see why youd want to lock it in forever. unless the threads were stripped and the bolt was rattling. But other than that id like to be able to adjust the weight of my cue.

There may not be an ounce of truth to it...I would like to change my bolt out though to go with a little heavier cue. Just never bothered with it before...I was told by this person to just ship it off to Schon and let them do it.

I spoke to the owner of Schon the last time this question came up. His answer was never at the factory.

They are glued in because they are not weight bolts per say. They use steel or aluminum to hit a weight range/balance they want, but the bolt itself is there to keep the butt cap on. Delrin doesnt glue well. Schon calls it an assembly bolt.

Schon DOES NOT use a Delrin butt-cap.
I don't know what proprietary mtrl it is but it is not Delrin.

I had trouble getting mine off, it took a very wide flat screw driver, I finally got a small chisel and put it in a vice and held the butt in my hand and screwed it off. They don't make screw drivers that wide. Once I got it off, never had a problem again taking it off.
