allison fisher loses 12 grand at brass tap?

I was there. It was not Allison, it was Kelly Fisher. Kelly was given up 6 games on the wire going to 10, Alternate Breaks, No 3 foul rule. They started out at 2k a set. Kelly won the first two sets, then the bet was raised to 4k a set and the rest of the night was not good for her. She quit 12k down. She did say she will play again when she gets back from Asia.

A female player giving 6 games on the wire going to 10 is pretty strong if the guy can play at all. She'd have to be running out pretty consistently to over come that many games on the wire. Some players can't play their game when they get that far behind and she has to beat the guy 10 to 3.........i'd love to have been there to see the match.

The guy plays just OK. If he had BIH and four open balls on the table, its no gaurantee that he will get out.

I've heard tons of stories like this over the years, and it seems that lots of these women pros play in such a small fishbowl (pro circuit) that they just don't know, or seriously underestimate, the capabilities of thousands of no-names who can rob them on a daily basis...with or without weight.

from what i hear there're 2 female pro players named alison fisher. is it the one we're all used to seeing in the tv rounds?

If that's how he plays then the spot isn't bad for Kelly. If he isn't sure to get out with 4 balls on the table and BIH then she had the better of it IMO......

do you know the kind of pressure it is to be down 6 0 in a race to 10 i cant see any women player winning under that pressure but ive been wrong before

I agree with you especially playing for $4K per set, but she plays pool for a living and she is one of the top female players playing a guy who might not get out with 4 balls on the table with BIH. I just think based on what i've seen of her game on ESPN she's strong enough to get past that spot playing a player who can't run out. I may be wrong and since she lost 3 sets for $4K each I must be wrong......

she's got a table at her house and plays for a living. meaning she should be motivated to practice as much as possible and always be working on her game. from what i'm hearing this guy might not run 4 balls with ball in hand. she's still supposed to win imo.

Huh?

I thought was established that it was not Allison, but it was Kelly Fisher.

whups. i posted that before i read the whole thread.

i'd really expect kelly fisher to win with that spot. imo from what i've seen of her playing she should be able to out shoot or out move him if he really isn't favored to get out with 4 balls and bih

On paper she should beat this guy with the spot but the pressure of the 6 games on the wire did get to her imo. Based on my knowledge of the two players the spot is fair on the table they were playing on (pro-cut Diamond). If they were playing on a bucket table the guy would have no chance.

Kelly is one of the best current female players, no doubt, but her biggest weakness is her saftey play. This is not a slam againist her, just my observation of watching her play in person many times.

yeah but if the guy she's playing doesn't have to get out with bih and 4 balls on the table then as long as he's kicking at it she should be fine

No need to go there. You just blurting stuff out?

a good player gives gets into a game that she's supposed to win (on paper) and loses 12k and it's crazy to wonder for a second if she was dumping. the economy's in the sh*tter and money's real hard to come by.

hell even if she had half the action she'd still have made 3k. Poke N hope sounds like he was there or knows someone that was there. if he says she wasn't dumping i'll buy it. that doesn't mean i'm wrong for thinking it.

6 games on the wire is a lot of weight but i've always figured spotting balls is harder. i've noticed other players and myself tend to tighten up a little more when spotting balls.

Was it her own money? was the rail betting too? she could have been dumping
To insinuate that somebody was dumping when you have nothing to back it up is ludicrous and irresponsible posting.
Just saying you need to think before you attack someones character. :(
No wonder pros don't like to post here.
