I can't choose between Rodney, Corey, Gabe and Marlon. But I have a strong feeling this guy Chang is going to be in the finals, he plays position as good as Chao and his break is an absoloute monster.

My pick is corey. Since you have been watching (I believe) Is it over, my feed looks like its a taiwan idol or something.

I would like Cory to win for no other reason then this sport needs a young American Tiger Woods style of player to take off and become hugely popular. The Americans are not going to embrace anyone but their own and this sports future in becoming a true internationally recognized sport is not going to happen without America. Cory winning is the best thing that could happen for pool.

{edit} and of course I would love to see Alain Martel win but being a realist I would be flabbergasted if he actually came out on top.

Hohmann made last 16 !!! Next in line for him is double J ...

So my pick is Thorsten Hohmann, I have to root for my brothers don't I :-)

I would like to see Corey win it, but with this tournament, you never know what is going to happen. But he is playing really well, and in the final 16!

My new pic...Manalo...

He just had his "coming out" in Reno and won the event. Then goes to Hard Times jamboree and wins the 9-ball and the Ring Game too....Now he is at the worlds and doing great...consistency is hard to not acknowledge and go with. He is very confident right now.

I'd like to see Mika take another title. Also, I think Hsia and Deuel are the ones who'd deserve a title, they surely have the skills to be justified world champions. Oh, my wishes go to Morris, a really friendly guy what I've heard and a terribly accurate and smooth on the table.

soo many good players. but i think marlon is the hottest player right now period. but this is gonna be good because there is so many good players.. specially the taiwanese. but it is good to see that duell and morris is up there. then there is hohmann another player that is on fire. this gonna be good. i just wish the sets were a bit longer.

I have "each-way" bets on Chamat, Hohmann, Morris and Owen. Sadly Gabe went out earlier today - sorry, Gabesmom! - so that leaves Marcus, Thorsten and Rodney. Should be interesting.

For those that don't know, an "each-way" bet means that if any of these players reach the semi-finals, then I get paid a quarter the odds, but if they win I get the money for the win AND the money for them reaching the semis. :D

Best wishes

If Manalo breaks and shoots the same game as the one with Huang doing this to Cheng, then he's gonna win this title. That is consistency at it's best. :)

The way Manalo is playing he will be real tough to beat but I'd like to see Rodney win it all. I've always loved the way he plays, fast and loose.

Go get em Rocket!

The hitman is going to be a 2 time world champ come sunday night so all you duel, chammat, morris and taiwanese supporters forget it the name they will cheering come sunday will be HOHMANN, HOHMANN, HOHMANN.

It looks like it's gonna take some kind of performance for someone to defeat Hohmann right now. Kuo also seems to be quietly playing well also, it's funny the guy made the semi-finals last year but some people still consider him an underdog.

I have no prediction, but my preference to win has got to be Corey by a little bit over Rodney. If either of them win I'd be pleased.

Well, my v-bookie action says I want either Immonen or Hohmann to win this thing.

I think the best possible story out there might just be Rodney Morris, becasue of his many year absence from the game and subsequent comeback.

In the "pick your top three" thread before the WPC thread, I picked Chao, Immonen, and Hohmann. Chao is out, and I still beleive one of the other two will win this, but only one of them can reach the final.

My instincts tell me it's gonna be Hohmann and Kuo racing to seventeen, and my pick to win the title is Hohmann, whose legend is growing with every single match win.

Thanks for the condolensces! I'm thrilled he got into the 32, but just sick that the buddies had to match up at this point in the tourney, knowing one had to pack it up afterwards. But he could have gotten Cory too.
The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat!!
So now I'll cheer for Cory, Jeremy, and Rodney, to go as high up the charts that they can get! I'm thrilled they are in top 16!! Looking forward to the Connecticut invitational event coming up in August, and the U.S. Open again, and whatever else he attends between now and then.
Until then, this one isn't over, still lots of great players to watch!! I'm enjoying it and learning alot about so many great players from other countries that I didn't know of before now.
