What impressed me the most as I watched Glen at work was the way his mind wouldn't leave any part of the task until it was done to perfection. He had a full schedule ahead of him and had to get on down the road but he labored intensly at every point in the process of rebuilding this old Gandy. I know that if it were I doing the job I'd get nervous about where I was supposed to be next. I'd be thinking "I gotta get this old pos done and get my butt on down the road." My nervous mind would have worked that way but Glen has the ability to focus only on the job at hand and not be distracted by where he's supposed to be next or what time the clock might say it is.
When he doesn't show up for your job at exactly the time he previously thought he'd be there it's because he had to do the prior job the way it's supposed to be done... no shortcuts... even if it takes a few hours longer than he said it would. The "up side" of this is that you can be ASSURED that attitude will prevail when he gets to your job. What I observed, as I watched and helped the little bit I could, was that the only work that's important is the work that's in front of him. It takes the position of #1 priority. When the present work is done then, and only then, will he turn his attention to the next work.
