Am I Reading Too Much into this?

For the last year my wife has been signing me up and paying for tournaments that I have to travel long distances to. Most are two days or more away from home. When I get home there is always a bill or two from the cable guy, milkman, plumber, or someone else that had to come into our home to fix something. Do you all think there is something funny going on, or is it all in my head?

Man you have a sponser to all the tournys!!! who could ask for more?????:p :p :p :p p.s. make her pay the milkman, plumer, and cable guy. na!!! she most likley already has!!!!!!!

Johnny,

It's impossible for any of us to know either way. Either way it's a serious issue, and one you should talk to your wife about, not us. Tread lightly until you're sure though, because it would be awful to accuse her of something when she's just trying to support your interests. However if that's not the case... well I won't make any suggestions on what to do for personal liability reasons.

It depends. If you call your wife to tell her you will be away an extra day or two because you have found some hot action after the tournament does she say either:

1) "If you stay there tonight don't bother coming home at all."

2) "Of course dear, take as long as you like and have fun. I have some extra housekeeping cash left over I can wire you if you need it."

3) "I'm sorry, your wife can't talk right now..."

If it's 1 you have nothing to worry about. If 2 you may have just died and gone to heaven. If it's 3 however you may have to consider becoming a full-time road player.

I'll trade you mine for yours!!!

I had a similar case. Some guy kept calling about the weather. He wanted to know if the coast was clear.

I think it's in your head. Why draw attention by having bogus bills laying around? And from several difference sources?! If I were going to do something like this, I wouldn't even have anyone come anywhere near my home...let alone my town.

Most women are wayyyyy smarter than this, if there truly is something going on.

Am I the only one that "didn't get it", or the only one that "got it"?

I took the post as a tongue in cheek "complaint" about how his wife uses pool to get him out of the house so that she can have stuff done around the house without him knowing until it was too late to say "no" to whatever renovation/upgrade she was wanting to do.

If I "didn't get it", then I'm with Ribdoner on this one.

I heard that a friend's wife sort of does this. Every time he goes to too many tournaments, all of a sudden he has a new "top of the line" stove or washer, etc, when he gets back. LOL! Too bad he doesn't play better so his winning's could pay for these new house items. Ouch!

Hire a Private detective, then you will know for sure, kinda sounds like you have doubts any way.

It was meant tongue in cheek. I figured this forum was going the way of Dear Abby so I'd help it along. I've been happily married for 42 years and I have said in 100's of posts that I didn't play in many tournaments over the years. Johnnyt
