Am I the only one who's about the birdseye

Most people have a dream cue with 300,000 inlays...I think that number might be a little exaggerated...who knows...

but anyways...my favorite "production" cues out there are the Tiger Birdseye maple cue and the Predator P2 Birdseye both with the stack leather wrap and neither have any inlays....gorgeous cues IMO

as a broke college kid I have the next in this line: A Viking G-08

So if any of yall have a zero-inlay clear stained custom or anything, rub it in... is there anyone who likes these too?? If you show off with pics I won't mind...I never see customs like this unless they are J/B's

Birdseye on a good playing cue with a classic look for around 500.00.....?????

Post up a WTB D-series mcdermott cue. Look for one with the standard
4 points up, no inlays. Some of these cues had really good Birdseye forearms
Allot of them did matter of fact.....Get a good price on one (most salesman today wont buy/sell these cues) You can find one for a good price. Send said cue to a custom guy, have him work his magic on it, remove butt cap,
replace, make a shaft, maybe even taper the thing a little different.
bingo, custom cue , nice forearm with the Birdseye's you like, 1200.00 cue... for about 500-600.00
The big plus in this plan????? the cue has YEARS of seasoning on the wood...
I'm with the school of thought that OLD CUES PLAY BETTER...Just make sure the shaft wood is VERY well seasoned.
My 2 cent's on how to get a classic look cue, that playes really well, for low money....

Love the McD's for Birdseye maple

I absolutely love McDermott as several in there line up of cues including the ones under 500 dollars are made with birdseye maple. The hit and feel are great even paired with the standard Hard Rock Maple shafts.

My Dubliner forearm and sleeve is birds eye maple which looks and feels great! And it's under the 500 dollar pricetag.

Big thumbs up for the folks at McDermott. Keep making those great cues right here in the USA!! :thumbup:

Just to make sure i was clear, Im talking about getting a Mc'd
cue from the OLD D series cues. Actually c OR d series. IMHO the older
the better. I have seen some unreal Birdseye forearms on those old cues.
Need to look around for the right one for conversion.
