It appears to be a bar table. I never expect much from them if that is what it is.

Being a little sadistic , I wish the other side of the pocket was round like used in snooker.
As the way it is balls often rattle like a pinball between 2 bumpers. Balls shot down the other rail into this pocket are rejected at anything over a crawl. The diagonally opposite pocket has to be played equally as cautious because the rail facings are abrupt hard points.

I’m not a aircraft mechanic so I’m going to use a different word “burned down”.
Might seem extreme but I’m drinking my coffee and am a bit reactive at the moment
I’ll be nice and spare the hack who did that to the rail.

Ok the coffee is wearing off.
I’ll be compassionate. Maybe the mechanic just ran out of facings and had to cut the last couple he had into pieces and use them to finish the job.
