Great shot!! He got a lot of lift on the cue ball.

From the video it looks like he also had another option. Kicking three rails out of the corner where the seven was with extreme left spin and possibly kicking it into the top side pocket.

That's what I thought too but I know I would have screwed it up! I'm sure his way was the easiest way for him to hit the 2. I see a friend of mine do those rail hops all the time but I can never remember to try it when faced with a shot like that so I always try some crazy kick!

This is EXACTLY why I don't like call shot Ten Ball. If he doesn't call the three ball, it's either loss of turn or BIH depending on which rules you are playing. Meanwhile Alain made a great shot to hit the two ball. Why should he be penalized because the three went in? Did you notice the reaction of the fans? Whoever decided to take this element out of the game is not doing our sport any favors.

I agree Jay. The two-way shot is dead in the water with this rule.

Thanks. I looked but didn't see a 10 ball on the table, though the footage was a little grainy. So I was thinking it was 9 Ball.
