I'd say Leil Gay is a good deal better than Kenny K., and can play on a level with any of the pros you mentioned. Can you post on this board when you are going to be doing some filming? I love coming up and watching the players. BTW, are ever going to release the "Stripper 8ball classic" on dvd?

You are correct, I forgot about J.R. I would hold him above Kenny K. Should probably beat all the guys at one pocket and straight pool too. I haven't seen J.R. in a while that's why I forgot about him.

We should be putting World Championship Strip Pool on our site after we start our show. I believe our first live show is going to be July 23rd with Corey and Shawn. Should have some prerecorded stuff with Troy Frank, Joe Kerr and several other players. Diamond Billiards just dropped off a 9 foot pro-am and a 7 foot pro- am. We will be doing instuctional stuff along with gambling matches and other things at out studio. amc4

As a matter of fact I do remember Joe Kerr. If I remember correctly he was a big fella. He used to promote the Pro events back then (Akron Open). That is where all the big names would come to town. I really miss those days. I remember Earl was in his prime back then and he was unstoppable. He would show up at about 1-2am an give us kids quick lessons. He was always willing to let us rack and he would talk to us just like we were his family. People say a lot of bad things about Earl on this forum but this is what I think about when his name is mentioned. He is the reason I play pool today and he is also the reason I play as well as I do. He showed what hard work would do.
Is Joe Kerr still in the promotion bussiness? And if he is will he ever do another big event in that area? My family still lives there and I would love to travel home and see some good action.

Hey Tim,

We are talking about the same Joe Kerr. He got sick a while back and no longer promotes pool events. He is going to be on our talk show telling a road story every month about the good old days. We will be starting a live show the 23rd of July where people can call in ask the pros questions and if they are instructional the pros will demenstrate the shot right then. Shawn will also been building and fixing cues on the show along with prerecorded skits and instructional segments with some other pros. We also plan on having high stakes gambling matches filmed at our studio so instead of reading about it people can watch it live over the internet. I'll inform people when we get a game and there will be some seating if you want to come down and watch it in person. amc4

George did get kicked out of a lot of tournaments. I told him if you plan on making a living off of weekly tournaments you have to spend a little money at the place and take care of the tournament director if you win. He would never do this, he would just go in and get a water and snap the tournament off. If he spent a little money and was nicer to the people he probably wouldn't of got thrown out of as many tournaments or at least would of got to play in them longer. Even though I made fun of George for being scared to bet and stuff I had to respect him for actually making a living off weekly tournaments.

I've been to big bar table tournaments all over the Midwest where George would go around getting $5-20 sets playing race to 3 8-ball or even $5-10 a game action. When the tournament was over, he would tell me he made close to $500-1000. And I believe him. He plays real good 8-ball and most of the guys he played couldn't get win. It was a good strategy asking to play so cheap because most of the good players don't want to play $10 sets. Chicken or not, that's good business sense. Oh, and sometimes he would do well or even win the tournament to supplement his "income"!! :)

Is your site up now? If so whats the link? Thanks again for all the information. It is good to see there is still action in N Ohio.

I do believe he is telling you the truth. He does have a way of grinding out money a little bit at a time. He might be the only pool player that is actually putting away money for his future. I've just been around and heard from Niels that they had good games for big amounts and George wouldn't bet it. I've been around George where he made a good bet and durning the set he would get nervous and let me take half the action. I would and they would win every time.

> Aaron,do you still occasionally play in the Wednesday night tournament at Doc's? I remember you coming in with Corey one time,I sat and watched you practice for about an hour, and was waiting for a chance to see if Corey can truly reproduce that long 2 ball from the Mosconi Cup at will, just have to see it in person once. I'll be in Akron the 16th-23rd or so,and will try to make it in there several times. Tommy D.

Hey Tommy,

I don't play in that tournament anymore. Only really go to Fiddlestix's. Corey sould be back from the WPC by then and I'll have him shoot the shot for you. When you see me just introduce yourself and I'll let you know when Corey's in town.

Her birthday is Friday - So she'll be hungover Saturday, and probably Sunday...
