George did get kicked out of a lot of tournaments. I told him if you plan on making a living off of weekly tournaments you have to spend a little money at the place and take care of the tournament director if you win. He would never do this, he would just go in and get a water and snap the tournament off. If he spent a little money and was nicer to the people he probably wouldn't of got thrown out of as many tournaments or at least would of got to play in them longer. Even though I made fun of George for being scared to bet and stuff I had to respect him for actually making a living off weekly tournaments.
I've been to big bar table tournaments all over the Midwest where George would go around getting $5-20 sets playing race to 3 8-ball or even $5-10 a game action. When the tournament was over, he would tell me he made close to $500-1000. And I believe him. He plays real good 8-ball and most of the guys he played couldn't get win. It was a good strategy asking to play so cheap because most of the good players don't want to play $10 sets. Chicken or not, that's good business sense. Oh, and sometimes he would do well or even win the tournament to supplement his "income"!!
