Can somebody post updates?

I can't find news anywhere on this, very sad that nobody is posting this kind of information.

Andy -- Are the round-robin results available anywhere -- all 80 games with scores?

A serious question (and not provoking anybody): how to not fall asleep?
I tried to watch (older ones), but couldn't really stay awake for more than 10minutes... it's all slow ball shoveling to me and the background noise is killing me :embarrassed2:

I watched Karl Boyes / Mike Dechaine match last night. Good clear stream and commentary. Strange end, I thought, when balls were not reracked and KB shot the 100th ball into the pocket.
Thanks for your comment about the Thursday night commentary! It was a real treat for me to do that match with champion Darren Appleton.

How did Alan Duty get in over Radislow Babica?

How did Rodney Morris get in over Marco Teutscher?

Must have been head to head record because both Babica and Teutscher had same number of wins and more total points.

Hi Dennis... yes you are right. We did head-to-head for tied records. That is how Duty and Morris advanced.

Ball differential was only used if 3 players were tied. There was one group where 3 players were tied at 3-1 but Archer had beaten both of the others. The ball differential was used to determine 1st 2nd and 3rd in that group. We also used ball differential to seed 1-24 exactly. Except for 23rd and 24th who were actually tied at 80 ball diff. So we used most balls made in that case.

Results

Here are some documents prepared by Peter Burrows summarizing the event.

Great Tournament and I see they are planning the next one for right before the US Open so they should be able to get a good field next year, too. Augurs well for the Straight Pool World.

American 14.1 was held once again at Diamond Billiards, Midlothian, VA Oct 22-25 with a sterling field of many of the world’s strongest Straight Pool players. A total of 40 players began the opening two days Round Robin of 8 balanced flights of five players each, playing four matches with the top three of each flight advancing to the final two days Single Elimination. The first attached is result for the Round Robin with the 24 players advancing to the final two days Single Elim. listed in bold. As expected all 8 of the A seeded players advanced, along with 4 of the B players. This result was not unexpected as the flights were very balanced with many strong players in the BCDE tier.

The elimination round was again seeded based on W-L and ball differential as shown on the 2nd attached. Four of the finest 14.1 players in the world advanced to the semi-final round. In the semi-finals games played to 150 current World Champion, Thorsten Hohmann, 4x World 14.1 titlist, bested the great Philippine Champion Warren Kiamco, while Hall of Fame Mika Immonen lost a hard fought match to our 2015 American 14.1 Winner, Darren Appleton. This would set up a rematch between the same two 2015 World 14.1 finalists, Hohmann & Appleton.

In the final match to 150 following the break and safety play, Appleton ran 17 but a secondary break shot left no shot and no safety. He took three intentional fouls to bring the score to -1 for both World Champions. Darren then ran to more racks, 27 to -1, before turning the table over to Thorsten. More safeties followed before Hohmann ran 56 and Appleton two more racks. The score stood at 86-81 Appleton when he made the next break shot but was left tough and missed. Thorsten came to the table and finished the rack but missed the break shot scattering the table for Appleton who proceeded to run 64 and out. A heartbreaking loss for Thorsten but always a gracious opponent; such is the classic game of Straight Pool. Another well deserved great win for World Champion Darren Appleton, his second in a row in Virginia.

I would suggest to get laptop and person who can run it to next year tournament. There is a bunch of Excel based tournament stuff which would help.
I would like to follow how tournament going but no info anywhere.
Not to try bash tournament but giving constructive criticism.

I just noticed Ortmann is in the U S Open. I'm surprised he didn't play in the 14.1
