I think a major problem with pool instruction is that the bulk of it has come from people who THINK this is the way you should learn. Most of their opinions are unproven methods of walking the path and many of them even though well presented I believe are holding back the student by telling them the pros and their methods are exceptions to rule and you should do it this way.
you don't have to be the best player to be the best instructor BUT it is a nice bonus and I also believe too many weak playing instructors hide behind that statement while trying to attract students.

Any AZBer with at least 100 posts here and who is not listed as a master or above has a $50 9-ball race to 5 with me at the AZB room.
Cornerman Fred? Jude? 'll even throw in Randy G., Scott Lee, Bob Jewett, and Dr. Dave into the mix. Others? Gotta accept online here
Come on fellas, belly up to the table.
I'm not saying I can beat any of these people; I'm just saying I'd like to see a little activity....

Incidentally, I'd love to take you up on your bet, but I won't be there. Perhaps if we ever do find ourselves in the same place at the same time.

Me...I can't run "three friggin' balls"...LOL...well, sometimes!
I'll probably jump into this pit of vipers, if Randy lets me out of our instructor room long enough!
