An odd but welcome epiphany

Sometime back I bought some medium wizard tips to try. But I've got new tips on everything I shoot with, so they were just layin around waitin' for a home. I was getting eager to try them so I could tell my friends about them. Now I've had this AH-20 adams in my now meager collection for about 10 years. It's never been chalked or shot and I thought I would make a profit on it someday. I've tried to sell it a couple times as some of you might recall but I couldn't even get 200$ for it. Well today I cut off the old tip and put on one of the Wizards to see how they felt. Now here comes the epiphany part!! This cheap old Adams shoots so smooth,so sweet,so knock down,drag out awsome I am totally amazed. It's got perfect balance and perfect tone IMO and I havn't put it down since this morning. It is now my primary weapon of choice. I was actually using my custom to break with!! Having alot of fun in NW Montana Don:yeah:

No its a production model ah20 Sands. Solid bocote butt 13mm shaft. Plain as it gets. Blows my mind. And I'm sure the wizard has something to do with it.
 
ehhhhh the tip, probably has a small part of it, but its just weird how some cues, Just "feel" AWESOME even though it might be a Adams/Viking/Pechaur or w/e production cue......

a few years ago, i ran into a guy who had a old Viking with a double threaded joint, had never seen it before, but the cue played AWESOME, I looked up the joint and it isnt used alot by Viking but it gives cues a stiffer hit....
 
Sometimes the most unpopular and unlikely of cues ends up being the magic wand.

One of the very best hitting cues I've ever played with was a Meucci Original. I lost it in a poker game about a decade ago otherwise I'd prob still be playing with it. It might have said Meucci on it--- but when I closed my eyes, it was the best cue on earth.

Some cues are freaks - they're not what they should be (in a good way).

Based on what you said, I'd never sell it.

I've felt it with pool cues, rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Never been much of a tennis player or the other sports using equipment but I imagine it is the same. Once in awhile something seems like it is a part of your body. If it is a pool cue it doesn't matter if it is a wallyworld special or a ten thousand dollar cue, that is the cue for you and cheap at any price. Just be glad the cue is yours. One reason I hate trying other people's cues is the danger of finding one like that when it isn't for sale at any price. (now you know, JoeyA :grin: )

I have paid a ridiculous price for a few things over the years because they were perfect for me. I have also had the shoe on the other foot and had people have to own what I had that I didn't particularly like myself. One man's gold is another man's dross. You never know.
