An update on my wife's condition

Mike...You've been a friend to me, and many, many others here and on the CCB. We've watched your struggles with your wife's illness for the past several years, and every one of us has sent prayers hoping that she would recover. I know somewhat your pain. I went through this process with my dad about 2 years ago, when he passed away, after a long illness. Whatever happens, whenever it happens, know in your heart that you have friends everywhere that are thinking about you, and wishing you the best!

As i write this i am doing so with a very heavy heart and i know it should be in the NPR section. So please allow and forgive me for putting it here.

As alot of people on here already know my beautiful and wonderful wife and best friend for the last 32 years has been very ill. Well this past Saturday we had her taken by ambulance back to Albany Medical Center Hospital because of problems breathing. We thought that she had a bad cold or maybe bronchitis at worst. We have since learned that she has had a total right lung collapse. Right now she is on a Bi-pap machine and undergoes respritory therapy every 4 hours that involves tapping on her back to try to loosen up the mucas. The Doctors feel that there in no sense putting an NG tube in and going in afterward to try to correct any problems, given that her underlying problems are what are causing the breathing problems in the 1st place. They feel that her neuromuscular diseases have invaded her lungs. We also made a discovery that since last January 2007 she has had a partial collapse of the same lung. I am saying my prayers every night with her and for her which ever way it turns out. Sometimes i cannot but help thinking that her passing would be a blessing in disguise but then again i do not want to lose her. But i also have to face the realization that that day is coming. So in closing, could who ever reads this please say a little prayer for her......thanks again for letting me post this on here.................mike

Mike -

My prayers go out to you and your wife. You have a lot of friends here at AZB for support-

Regards,
Dave

He answers. Just not always what we want to hear.

I'll have my wife say a prayer for yours, He's pissed at me right now and doesn't answer me anymore. Be strong and both of you take care.

Mike I'm in similiar situation. Prayers already sent and will continue as many times as I think of it. I feel like I might have an inkling of what you are going through. I will pray that both you and her have comfort in these difficult days ahead.

Stay standing strong. We are actually blessed to be the ones to take them to the door. Even if it doesn't feel like it. Somtimes I want to lay down in front of the bus and scream. "Don't go." What will I do? but, it seems so selfish.

You are in my constant prayers. I have a montra these days. Fear is a lack of Faith. I keep saying it over and over.

I just want to take a second before i return back to the hospital and say thank you for the out pouring of support that you have all shown me at this time................................mike
