...And People Complain about $20 Chalk...

I like kamui lol a single piece of chalk lasts me more than a year. That’s like $2 a month. lol that’s nothing. Most of us spend more than that on a coffee every morning. Also I never have a mess because I only chalk with it once a game. I keep it back at my case and chalk in between racks 🤷‍♂️
That being said this feels like a cash grab but I’m used to that in golf. They make new irons that look just like the last years but put a plus at the end of the name and same hit farther and are more forgiving then ever! Lol That’s business
I don't care how much my opponent or anyone else spends on chalk, what bothers me about Kamui is the mess it leaves behind. When an opponent uses Kamui the cue ball ends up with what looks like blue pimples all over it.

Everything on that website is a scam. How about $80 for something a piece of sand paper could accomplish?

But...but...
You may use the KAMUI Dragon Tongue™ with any tip; however, it has been tested to modify a KAMUI tip and we cannot guarantee the outcome of using it on any other tip. We do recommend only agitating your KAMUI tip with a KAMUI Dragon Tongue™ and no other tip tools/scuffers. Any tool other than a KAMUI licensed tip tool has proved to damage the surface and the performance of your KAMUI tip.

Thats a real good price.

CA. is getting close to being the new Soviet Union with all the goofy restrictive laws.
It might be the most beautiful state we have run by idiots.
Being in Cali, indeed pain in the arse, must have ammo drop shipped to local ammo dealer where I pay $10 xfer fee per 1000 rounds.

This is my goto for cases of 9mm. Shipping is about $23 per 1000. Veteran owners.

When I only needed a few boxes of something, I just buy local.

We have a guy in our pool league that just grinds the chalk on. Sounds like he is calling turkeys. He does for about 5 to 10 seconds after every shot. His tips can't last long!

Because if the "Kage" part is mainly shown, smartasses will start laughing about you carrying something that basically translates to "I took a s**t". Then again, going to pool rooms for laughs is usually something I enjoy.
Sounds about right........I almost s**t when I saw the price.

Seriously though, do people really have so much trouble with miscues, that they need expensive, special chalk. I can't even comprehend that.

Price is absolutely no factor for some people who actually think it will improve their game!

Nothing other than it goes on easier but it gets everywhere.
I don't know about you, but I just put the chalk on my tip....

I have seen some messy pool players over the years.
Chalk on their hands, the cue shaft, in their case... then they wonder why everything gets messy.

A case of Master Chalk (144 pieces) = $38.75

A case of the new Kamui at retail price (144 pieces) = $4,752.00

This EXACTLY.
It'll go good with the many beer leaguer's $3,000 pool gear ensemble lol.
Me-- been using Triangle/Master for 40 years.
No designer (paste chalk, layered tips, cf shafts, etc) crap needed for this shortstop.
(Although I do shoot with a ld wood shaft--- ssshhhhhh, it's a secret!)

You guys just wait until I release my wagyu beef tallow based chalk. Specially blended with Himalayan sea salt and truffle. Only $139.99 per pound.

Woke up to this in my Inbox this morning. I'm not price sensitive, generally, but C'MON MAN!

whatever the market will bear🤷🏻‍♀️

Why pay $0.25 for one piece of chalk when you can pay $33.00🤦🏻‍♀️

I guess Master better get wise- chalk is the $$$

I'll stick to the classic Masters chalk.
I own the kamuis and taoms , & although there pretty good , they arent worth no more than $10 per cube imo.
The reality is , If you cant run racks with masters, you aint running no racks with some $20+ dollar chalk either.
Preach!

It's not about running racks it's about the mess some chalks make on the table and balls. Taom is amazingly clean which makes it worth the investment for me and my equipment.
I agree. I was skeptical about paying $20 for a piece of chalk, but this chalk (Taom Pyro) is so clean it's worth every penny. I just had my table recovered, and the way I view it is that this chalk will help prolong the life of the cloth. An added bonus is fewer skids. I can practice for 2 hours and there will not be a single chalk mark on the cue ball. I also think the cube will last longer than other chalk because I don't have to chalk as often. I still check before every shot but the tip needs only a slight touch-up if it needs anything.
