Annoucing the True Rack

What is your basis for this? I only need one angle to define the shape and this device is perfectly suited to defining that angle.

How is the TrueRack better than the Magic Rack? Am I guaranteed that the balls will touch or lean on each other like the Magic Rack? I'll answer for you and say no. There's your basis.

I don't know which rack is the best rack but the Magic Rack has some drawbacks just like ANY product. I'm not going to sit here and knock the Magic Rack because I think it is a good product. I'll test out the TrueRack and make my comments when I see how it performs for me.

There is no such guarantee with the Magic Rack, either. Poorly sized balls will not rack correctly with the Magic Rack.

Wow, you way missed the boat on the point of this.

But go ahead with quite possibly the worst analogy that I've ever heard.

I'll continue to support this product as I was able to play with it, like it, and have reported my experience with it.

Everyone, listen to this advice. I've never done coke, and i'm sure it's not good for me. So I might as well try it, or I can't knock it.

Lol.

to be totally honest, once the balls are sufficiently worn and worse yet, unevenly worn, there is no rack whatsoever that will rack tightly anymore...

No rack will get uneven shaped balls to align properly. Dur

I don't even know why I bother replying to posts like these. This post, along with the Simpson dude who thinks i'm "knocking" a rack that doesn't show or prove me anything more than other conventional racks, makes me wonder.

I think you've summed it up nicely and accurately.

For those that don't know elvicash; his I.Q. is probably just about equal to the sum of the other posters on this thread (serious Purdue computer science geek...like my son....). I'm doubtful he hasn't considered all of these issues in detail.Perhaps we should just thank him for making such a nice luxury product for those of us that want to spare NO expense in having the nicest "pool toys" possible. My thanks are extended.

I believe some of these posts seemingly against this product are a bit over the top and unneeded. I reserve judgment on this product until i have laid my hands on it. That being said, this statement possibly could be the most ridiculous I have read here EVER. Being a "computer science geek" doesn't translate into having Einstien like qualities last I checked. Being "smart" doesn't really translate into being a good pool player or a leading authority on pool playing either. I have seen you play....case in point.

Very interesting video here. I think, if there's one thing that can be taken from Rodney's responses is that these racks are going to be better for specific games and specific situations. This True Rack has a lot of advantages. For one thing, it's portable. It's also good for all games (specifically 1p and 14.1). If your option is a soft-plastic rack, this thing is going to shine like a jewel. However, if you already have a solid rack available to you, I don't think this is going to do a better job. It SHOULD perform on par with most other rigid racks (my opinion, I've never actually used this).

One other thing I'd like to say, I don't think it's fair to compare this to any of the paper rack solutions. The paper racks are an entirely different philosophy on racking, a philosophy that has yet to be accepted by everyone. This True Rack stays within the concept of traditional racking methods. Personally, I like the standard triangular racks and would like to see portable options that were reasonably priced.

Shoot-man,
Hmmm...don't worry, after you are here awhile (longer than 313 posts anyway), you will see LOTS of stuff more ridiculous than that. That was an attempt at HUMOR (you can look up the definition...not the funniest thing I've ever written, but several people thought it was funny). Perhaps you missed the "Magic Rack as a weapon" post I put in a bit later in this thread...that was MUCH more ridiculous than the I.Q. sum estimate (though perhaps you haven't been here long enough to know that the I.Q. estimate was more a poke at the general level of poster intelligence than a compliment to elvicash....sorry elvicash...).

My point was that elvicash had already considered the "helpful advice" from the posters before this thread ever started.

Thanks for the gratuitous slam on my game; your "smart" analogy has nothing to do with this thread, and I said nothing about "smart" making a player better (though it can). Perhaps you will be posting some vids of your game. I practice diligently every day, and if you haven't seen me play for a while you may be surprised (....or not...). I've been playing for 6 years, and very seriously for only 3 years. I've matched up with quite a number of champion and road players on my own dime; lets hear some of your stories.

.

JR,
I must not be able to use a regular rigid rack very well; I find the True Rack to be much better than my Delta. The rack conforms to the balls, giving it a definite advantage over the rigid racks in my opinion.

If I make it to NYC later this year, I'll bring the rack along.

I'd be curious to see it. I can't imagine a poolroom ever converting to them but I can imagine a rack like this being popular among bartable players. This product definitely offers solutions to some issues not addressed by the other "alternative racks" out there and maintains traditionalist appeal.

If it was humor you were after then I apologize for missing the joke. Just seemed rather undiplomatic to me. If you feel the average poster's IQ level here is restrictive at best I still don't see the need in saying it "out loud". It doesn't take more than 313 posts to know when "me" the average poster has been insulted. Again sorry.

My point was that elvicash had already considered the "helpful advice" from the posters before this thread ever started.

What I'm sorta thinking here is that when you post "insert anything here" on a public forum you are provoking public opinion. Wrong?

(though perhaps you haven't been here long enough to know that the I.Q. estimate was more a poke at the general level of poster intelligence than a compliment to elvicash....sorry elvicash...).

I have and I understand. Again though I just wouldn't say it "out loud" (whispers)

your "smart" analogy has nothing to do with this thread

Niether did Elvicash's computer geek analogy...point?

As for playing ... I would be ecstatic if you played a little with me on your own dime...or someone else's, doesn't matter to me. Then you would have yet another story to tell eh!
