Video link at end.
I was able to clean the crap off of my table and I decided to tackle this shot. My normal disclaimers, of: The diagramming tool is not a 9' table, I got the ball positions as close as I could get them, and until you are personally at the table facing a shot, its hard to see angles with video, pictures, or diagramming tools.
For the video, I shot in order:
-drag draw low outside - This was very hard to pocket, and very hard to get position.
-inside only - This was medium hard to pocket, and medium hard to get position
-top only - This was easy to pocket, impossible to get position (hits 4 every time)
-high outside - This was easy to pocket, easy to get position (but further away)
-outside only - This was easy to medium to pocket, medium to get position
I only showed the shots where the ball was pocketed. Some shots were good position, some came up short.
For MY money, I'd shoot the high outside, and take a longer shot on the 2. I'd be curious to see how a pro would play this.
Also, I think this entire out is very difficult. I wonder what the odds of a top pro getting all the way out would be. You have to decide if you want a steep angle on the 2 to go back and forth for the 3, or a shallow angle on the 2 to hold for the 3. You also have to decide on the 3 ball if you want to be straight in to draw straight back for the 4, or a sharp angle to come across table for the 4. All of these combinations are possible, and how you hit the 1 may determine the rest of your choices.
Thanks for watching.
