I wonder if he has 3 of them at that price!! :p

Second Chance Offer scam is not sent by eBay or the seller of the original listing.

Email address ebay_237721@yahoo.com is not the email address of the seller for listing 260028979088.

I have been watching this auction very closely and asked about the auction in this thread.
The cue has been around for a while and the first place I saw it was initially on the CueCollector page.
The pictures and description in the auction came from Bill of Cornerstone.
I did attempt to contact the seller where I was requesting one additional picture (joint, pin and the ivory tip on pin) but I have not received anything at this time.

I like the cue but something does not smell right.
Now for you to have a second chance on an auction that has not closed, has me really worried.

I think the whole thing is a scam, Myron. I bid low on it just to watch it. Another AZBer asked to meet the guy and pay cash and he is getting the runaround - "well the cue is not mine to make that decision . . . .".

yep.

I have a friend in New York who would pick up the cue for me and pay cash. I've traded emails with this guy, but have not heard back. I would not touch this auction.

If it was legit, the guy is an idiot for not being more clear and/or offering escrow throught proficient or something.

Ebay is a ***** anymore.

Scammers suck

A second chance offer can not be sent until the listing ends. It was probably cut, edited and pasted to the email you got. Stay away and forward to the ebay spoof address.:(

Did you guys notice that he cancelled bids on some people who had 0 feedback? If hes a scammer I think he did that to try to get people to think its not a scam. pretty odd auction..

Ebay is getting to be really bad. Scott, did you see the cue shop for sale on ebay that was a scam?

You guys hit it on the head regarding sending questions and gauging the run around. If it is a serious auction for a valuable item, most people would fall over themselves answering questions of serious shoppers. When you get the run around asking about local pick up, it definitely should be a warning sign.

I did a reverse look up on the internet for the address that was associated with the "seller" of the cue shop. It was a real address and phone number, but returned a completely different residents name.

I got another second chance offer from a different person last night, followed immediately by a scam alert message from ebay. They said that the ID owner's account had been compromised and to ignore any messages regarding the auction.

One funny thing though. The ebay message used wording that led me to believe that the original auction might have been legitimate. But their terminology was real clear (legalese and all), so I don't put too much stock in it.

Scott

Another second chance offer? That sure makes thing a bit suspicious.

But as the auction neared its completion, the auction was removed by ebay for some reason.
“This listing (260028979088) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number”

I did like the cue and thought if it was legit that it may be a steal at any price under $3K.

BTW, I do remember your Hercek cue very well when you attempted to sell it.
But what is the other cue in your avatar?
