Another example of bad equipment coming into play - Japan Open

A lot of speculation going on here. I presented a question of whether it was the table or the cue ball to Mika Immonen on his facebook page. I'll wait and see if he responds.

I would lose it if I watched a CB roll like that on "professional" equipment! I would normally think it was the table, but in that last video the ball wobbles in both directions, unless the slate was not planed level I would blame the CB.

Did they actually glue those racks down! that sucks! I forget what match it was, but on the break the CB was rolling towards the nine sitting in the rack and was dead set to be frozen to it and leave a jacked up long one ball shot. CB rolled off in two spots on the rack and landed beside the nine leaving a much easier one ball, the rack was then ran pretty easily. I would have also lost my shit on that one as well!

I saw a lot of little rolls in this tournament. The equipment at my local hall seems to play more accurate than that. That's a shame!

As much as I dislike those ridiculous balls, I really think the slate was milled funny near the pocket. I'm interested in seeing what he says. Thanks for checking his opinion.

knowing how tables can be in Asia I would say there's a good chance it was the equipment or at a minimum, both.

tables were set by Japanese guys. you should know how capable they are when it comes to being technical and strictly accurate.

Regarding the China Open, I have a first-hand report that when Oscar put his behind up on a rail to attempt a shot, the balls on the table began rolling.

did somebody forget to tighten some bolts?

best,
